I HAVE FAST INTERNET!!!

Now I just... need to buy a wireless router so that we have wifi and I have FAST INTERNETS on my laptop, and all will be perfect.
windandwater: (Mistress Sera Says)
At the moment I am:

-- doing laundry
-- flipping between the Super Bowl, the Puppybowl, the marathon of Being Human, and the marathon of Auction Hunters
-- doing things online (like FB, Farmville, RP, etc.)
-- playing Plants vs. Zombies on my DS

I have already:

-- finished 3 loads of laundry
-- cooked and ate my lunch of orange chicken and rice
-- killed zombies on my DS
-- done things online (of course)

I will be:

-- continuing to rotate through the channels depending on commercials
-- taking a shower (after the laundry is done because if I do it now the water will be cold the poor water heater)
-- probably killing more zombies
-- folding the laundry I've done or maybe I'll do that tomorrow
-- still being online :P

Watching the Merlin season premiere! ♥ ♥ ♥

And OMG last season I had this little pet ship of Gawaine/Merlin because, I mean, come on. It's Gawaine, He Who Is Shirtless And Should Stay That Way. But this episode I was totally feeling the Lancelot/Merlin shippiness.

Actually, we should just throw all the knights and Merlin and Arthur in one big pile.

:3

Also, Morgana gets more evil and evil and eviler. And even when trekking through the wilderness, she's always so well-dressed. Maybe it's an evil thing.

OMG SQUEE

GUESS WHO FINALLY HAS A PSP, BITCHES?!

THAT'S RIGHT.

ME.

And not only that, I got it for practically free, since I've been hoarding gift cards for a year. For the price of one new game, I got myself a shiny new PSP (black) and 3 games: Patapon, Knights in the Nightmare, and Jeanne d'Arc. I would've gotten Crisis Core, but they were missing the disk when I went up to pay, which made me all ;___;. But I think I'll be happy for now.

... until I start getting new PSP games for Christmas and birthdays.

>_>;;

I want Kingdom hearts: Birth By Sleep, Dissidia, Dissidia Duodecium, and Crisis Core.

BUT YES.

I AM SO EXCITE.

THERE IS NO HIGH LIKE THE GETTING STUFF AT A BARGAIN HIGH.
windandwater: (Smile!)
It's been confirmed! Neku from The World Ends With You has shown up in Kingdom Hearts: Dream Drop Distance.

DAMMIT SQUEENIX. WHY DO YOU DO THIS TO ME. I WAS ALREADY TRYING TO FIGURE OUT HOW TO BUY A 3DS SO I COULD PLAY THIS GAME AND THEN YOU ADD EVEN MORE TEMPTING GOODNESS.

*throws money at Squeenix*

Just take all of it! And you better give us teasers for TWEWY 2! And KH3! IT'S TOKYO GAME SHOW. GIVE US THE GOOD CRACK.

The season finale for Deadliest Warrior is Vampires vs. Zombies!!!

Fuck yes I'm watching this.

EDIT...

Okay, a little annoyed over the discussion on whether the zombie virus can affect vampires. The answer is obviously no. :/ Vampires are undead. Their bodies are physically dead, so they wouldn't catch the zombie virus, or be able of passing it along. Also, as they are already dead (or undead), zombies would probably ignore vampires if they aren't attacked first. Zombies want to infect the living to make more zombies.

RE-EDIT...

Vampires can think. :/ I think they're forgetting that vampires can use shotguns. A vampire with a shot gun means the zombies would never win.

EDIT AGAIN...

I wonder if they're gonna bring up the "rotting" issue. Zombies are very effective, but as they are animated corpses, their bodies will eventually rot and decay.
windandwater: (Smile!)
So I finally finished Kingdom Hearts: Re:coded. I feel so accomplished.

^_______________________^

Though, note that I said finished and not completed, because there's a bajillion quests and trophies I still need to get for total completion and I'm not sure I want to finish 100%.

But I do want to get at least 20 trophies, so I can unlock the secret ending that leads up to Kingdom Hearts: Dream Drop Distance. Even if I know what happens in the secret ending anyway. >_>;; Hush. I want to unlock it.

BUT OMG. RE:CODED YOU AND I NEED TO HAVE SOME WORDS. CAPSLOCKY RAGE KIND OF WORDS.

This thread from [community profile] ontd_political has the absolute most hilarious comments ever. How can you not like a thread with gems like this:

Most people outside of the U.S. don't realize this, but the delegates of the Constitutional Convention were overwhelmingly composed of two prominent groups within early American society: zombies and vampires.

Ben Franklin, of course, was a werewolf.

And this:

I seriously think that everyone in the Tea Party thinks the Founding Fathers were like the Justice League or something, battling evil, tyranny and injustice everywhere they found it. The Founding Fathers were NOT a superhero team, completely infallible and always right. Although the thought of George Washington as Superman, Thomas Jefferson as Batman and Ben Franklin as the Flash is an amusing thought.

And, of course, this beautiful summation of history wherein it is explained how the Founding Fathers abolished slavery:

john adams and john hancock. see, they built a time mechine, and used to to lanch them selfs forwards in time and join forces with ab lincon after there time mechine exploded upon reentry. together, the trio hacked, slashed, shot and killed there way across the south, till they finaly had an epic duel with the forces of slavery in the captial of the confedates. john adams, an old man, was mortaly wounded, and lay dieing. then, albert enstine steped in. claiming that history must be repaired, he took adams and hancock, and transported them back to there own time, lieing adams upon his death bed.

then, with his work complate, slavery abolished, and the time line restored, enstine nodded with statsfaction, and went to pick up stephen hawking, for there own trip to the future...

Politics, comics, and time traveling zombie historical figures. Of course I love this stuff.

windandwater: (Smile!)
I FINISHED KINGDOM HEARTS 358/2 DAYS!!!

I feel so accomplished and stuff. :3

And damn, I was so worried over the last battles (against Xion -- who has 4 forms -- and straight into Riku's battle), because the walkthrough I used was all like: OMG NO SAVE POINTS BETWEEN BATTLES BRING CURES. So I had like, 9 Curas equipped, 5 Elixirs, 3 Hi-Potions, and 4 Hi-Ethers. And... it wasn't that bad. Possibly because I was over-leveled from doing all the Missions, and Challenges and Mission Mode.

Also, possibly because I was cheap and just kept dropping Thundagas on Riku during the Deep Dive Battle until he was like, at 2 bars of health before I started mashing 'A'. I never was close enough to him for him to combo me until then. BWHAHAHAHAHAHA.

It felt really good to dual wield though, and cut through all those NeoShadows like butter.

SO.

Last night's Top Chef.

Who thinks Alex stole the pea puree?

So much drama. I've been generally unimpressed by this season (which is now halfway through), as things are horribly cutthroat and more about chef drama than good cooking. I really enjoyed last season because the food was consistently amazing. I mean, hell, even the guy who came in third is going to have a spot on the US Team for the Bocuse d'Or.

I still love Top Chef Masters best though. And I want to see what Top Chef Just Desserts is like.
windandwater: (Not Supposed To Be Here)
WHY HASN'T ANYONE BEEN MAKING NOISE ABOUT THIS YET?!

Frozen Teardrop (2010): A novel written by the series' head writer Katsuyuki Sumisawa and serialized in Gundam Ace Magazine. Set some time after the end of the series in the date "MC 0002" on Mars, it focuses on Kathy Po, Sally's daughter and a Preventer agent, receiving historical documents from President Dorothy Catalonia and orders to initiate "Operation Mythos" and "awaken Sleeping Beauty/Princess Aurora". According to the writer's interview preceding it, the series will feature the 5 pilots, Relena, and "the children of Duo, Heero, etc.", jumping back and forth in points of time between AC 195 and the future, and is intended to act as a bridge to a possible sequel.

*FLAILS AROUND IN FANGIRL JOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOYYYYYYYYYYYYYY*

Also, I managed to find a summary of the prologue, and of course, the part I focused on was this:

# A voice is heard behind Kathy, "You’re just like your mother."
# Appearing was a middle aged man in black priests clothes with a young boy with long hair tied in a braid.
# The middle-aged man who appeared at random was nothing but smiles. "I’m Father Maxwell. The Father Maxwell who may run and hide, but never tells a lie. And this brat with the unpleasant eyes is my son, Duo."
# The priest brings special attention to Kathy, "By the way, I do hope that you brought three files with you. The three preludes are needed to awaken the Aurora Princess."

WHAT.
WHAT IS THIS.
I CAN'T.

*JUST FLAILS AROUND MORE*

EVERYONE FLAIL WITH ME.

EDIT...

Also, this:

The next file is Autumn AC195 in which transfer student "Duo Maxwell" reads an essay on the theme of the relations between the Earth and its colonies.

This has to be the part we saw in the series, after the Gundam pilots went to space, and Heero was on that colony school under the name Duo Maxwell and he read his essay in class. I'm such a geek for knowing that this happened in the timeline right before Heero goes to 'rescue' Duo from his execution.

EDIT is a perv...

Today, I love [personal profile] chronolith. Because she write me pr0n. Or, at the very least, Dorothy/Relena pre-smut. Everyone should take Duo's advice on birthday presents. X3;;

Okay, everyone needs to go to the Google homepage right now and play Pac-Man in their header image. I love it when Google does stuff like this. ♥

How much do I love Shin Megumi Tensei: Devil Survivor?

Answer: A lot.

I beat the game a couple days ago, but I purposely got the worst ending (i.e. the default and easiest ending), just so that I could play again on New Game+ and get the other endings. LOLZ oh you RPG games with multiple endings and things that are unlockable only on certain endings. It makes a completionist (like me) want to cry.

That, and the multiple Xanatos Gambits that the bad guys are throwing around. I can't wait until I get near the end again, so that I can start pissing Loki off. :/ Also, it sucks to have Metatron scold you for being a wuss and bringing the Apocalypse.
windandwater: (THIS is Sparta!)
In a continuation of my birthday joy, I went out yesterday (before my coughing and voice issues got really bad) and redeemed my free birthday coupons for stuff. It was a pretty good haul, and I'm so glad that I'm a member of those rewards clubs at my favorite stores. I walked away with:

-- two free pieces of Godiva chocolate (both truffles)
-- 3 tablets of Godiva milk chocolate (on sale and with a 10% birthday discount)
-- an eye-centered trio from Sephora (eyeliner, eyeshadow, and mascara)
-- Cookie Doughn't You Want Some ice cream from Coldstone
-- a cute purse and trio of Victoria's Secret body products (Love Spell lotion, body wash, and body mist); not free, but I used a $10 giftcard to buy it, so it cut the price in half, which is awesome because just the lotion is $10

The only thing I couldn't find was a GameStop with a used version of Shin Megumi Tensei: Devil Survivor, so that I could just get the instruction booklet. I like collecting things like that, and I sort of want the instructions and tips, because I sort of have no idea what I'm doing in the game, even if it's hella fun.

Unfortunately, halfway through my shopping joy, I started coughing harder. =___=;; It's pretty bad now. I hate unproductive (a.k.a. non-phlem producing) coughs. Dry coughs just hurts my throat and chest and I know that mucus is lingering somewhere.

My voice is pretty much bullfrog-like. I'm going between losing my voice completely and being able to talk, but I sound horrible.

Damn you allergy season. Damn you.
windandwater: (Oro?)
*throttles LJ for being a whore*

Anyway, yesterday was certainly trying. It seems that everything related to technology hated me yesterday. LJ was being dickish. Facebook was abnormally slow. Farmville and Castle Age both glitched on me so I just had to give up and not do anything with them. Only Ocean Party worked reasonably well when I wanted to play it.

At the moment though, I am baking a ham. Because I feel like it and because I'm hungry and because we had roast on Easter instead of ham, so might as well not let this guy sit around too long. Also, I'm getting a naughty thrill about eating pork on a Friday, after all the Lent and fasting. XP

I think I will make mashed potatoes to go with the ham.

And no, I still haven't figured out what to do for my birthday. Which is tomorrow. But I have many chores to do today, including folding laundry, cleaning my bathroom (or at least the mirrors and sink since the rest is clean), and painting my nails.

Oh, and Merlin is on tonight on SyFy. X3;; I understand what everyone on my flist is freaking out about now.

Whenever someone says something equivalent to: "Oh, it's so cold! That means global warming doesn't exist!" it sort of makes me want to punch them, because it shows that they're ignorant of what changes global warming actually causes.

Also, the Azores. Added because I like that word and they're also relevant to this topic.
windandwater: (THIS is Sparta!)
So... everyone in the know knows that I've been absent lately because I've been raping the hell out of playing Dissidia: Final Fantasy. It's just so fun and there's so much to do, and the game rewards you constantly for things.I'm currently trying to finish Shade Impulse I with all the characters (just need Warrior of Light and Onion Knight), before I move on to Shade Impulse II. I have, of course, already finished the Destiny Odysseys with all characters at least twice each.

Playing this game so much has led to some wonderful observations and geekery.

-- FUCK YEAH SEPHIROTH. I unlocked him as a playable character (as well as his alternate outfit) as soon as I had enough points. Let me tell you, having Sephiroth run around half naked and killing things is endlessly fun. And he has a really really... I guess it would be beautiful way of fighting. He doesn't make too many extraneous movements, so he's very fast and deadly. He fights like he expects to kill everyone he touches with one strike. And that's usually the case!

Unfortunately, that also means that because he moves like he will OHKO everything, he has bad recovery time after an attack. >_>;; Seriously, after he connects an attack, he kind of stands with his sword out before a sort of flourish, which means if he doesn't OHKO (and I don't make him dodge fast enough after), he's completely open for a counterattack.

But it's okay, because I HAVE SEPHIROTH RUNNING AROUND HALF NAKED AND KILLING THINGS. Also, yes, he likes to set stuff on fire. His EX Mode attack (a.k.a. Limit Break) looks exactly like when he set Nibelheim on fire, and he's standing in front of the raging flames. Bravo, Squeenix. Bravo.

-- Have a massive hard-on for Firion. He's just so... woobie. He's an awesome fighter, which makes my life easier. But his dream of wild roses is just so cute. And he makes Cloud run around to rescue his rose which was stolen by Sephiroth. Bwahahahah. Hoenstly, why aren't there more Firion/Cloud fics, huh? I mean, really.

-- Kept expecting Tidus to burst into tears during his chapter, but he didn't! Also, he is fast, which makes me happy.

-- On a related note, Jecht, you are like the worst dad ever. But you teasing Tidus about crying like a pussy is hilarious. You are still a bastard though, and I fucking hate that you spam your attacks. You keep killing me if I don't get away. :/

-- Cecil, you are so so pretty. But that doesn't excuse you from being an absolute bitch to play. Why must you be so slow in Dark Knight form? And you jump like there's a ton of bricks attached to your feet. And WHY CAN'T YOU JUST START OUT IN PALADIN FORM? My life would be so much easier if I didn't have to do an airborn HP attack just to get you into you SO MUCH BETTER AND STRONGER mode.

Just... stand there and look pretty. :x

-- Squall... *hee* ♥ ♥ ♥ I have nothing coherent to say about Squall, except that he's badass and faster than I thought he'd be. Oyes, I will indeed spam all your close-range combos. ilu. ♥

-- Cloud... ♥ ♥ ♥ *explodes into sticky goo all over the place* Less emo than in Advent Children, but not as dorky as in the original FFVII game. But you can equip him with a Snowboard so it's all good! He's not as fast as I'd like, unless he's using certain attacks, but it's okay because his sword pretty much lets him Defense Crush everyone else.

Also, you can equip crossdressing accessories onto him (I really need to get my hands on that set), that gives him extra bonus boosts. Seriously. It's some set of accessories that is only equippable on the girls in the game. And Cloud. Bwahahaha. Yet another point in Squeenix's favor.

Okay, I'm done with my geeky squeeing for now.

*rolls away*

VICTOLY~

I HAVE KINGDOM HEARTS: 358/2 DAYS!

Do not be disturbed if I am suddenly absent online. Gaming is srs biznezz and between this and Dissidia, I have a fun gaming list. Also, I managed to clear both Tidus and Firion's story mods on Dissidia, and have started Squall's. I totally raped things yesterday, since it was my bonus day.

:3
windandwater: (Smile!)
For those on my flist who are interested, but not really following the news yet, Tokyo Game Show has already started. It's in day two already. :3 I haven't seen any really good announcements yet, but I figure I'll keep tabs on stuff I find interesting (and you might too).

-- Nintendo is dropping the prices on the Wii by $50. That means the system is now only $199. I can confirm this, since I've got a Toys-R-Us ad in my house right now that is advertising the system.

----> This is not only to compete with Playstation and XBox, which have been dropping prices recently, but also timed to match up with the release of the new Wii Sports Resort game, and the Wii Motion Plus.

-- Sony dropped the price of the PS3 by $100 and has released (or will release) the new PS3 Slim version. So for $299 you get a 120GB harddrive, instead of the current (fat) models, which I think are 80GB for the same price. Kind of old news by now, but interesting given how the "console wars" are heating up.

-- Sony also dropped the price of the PSP-3000 by nearly $50, but only in Japan. But in Japan, the PSP base price is more than in the US (over $200 once you convert from yen). I dunno if this means they'll be dropping the US (and UK, for you people across the pond) prices too. But it's pretty much to put the PSP Go into a better position.

----> Also, Sony is apparently going to be running a dual-console strategy between the PSP and PSP Go, instead of the PSP Go being an upgrade for the PSP. Bastards. Evidence of this is that they've pretty much shut down the rumored "trade-in" program for the PSP Go in the US, where you were supposed to trade-in your UMD games for a download to put on your PSP Go. So, that means if you buy the Go, you have to buy your games all over again. What a ripoff. Especially since the PSP Go is already priced like, $50 more than the PSP.

-- Squeenix has a rumored date of December 2009 (that's this December) for the release of FFXIII in Japan. Of course, that means the US (and rest of the world) has to wait longer, because of that crap idea to wait on releasing FFXIII for everyone else until the XBox version is done, too. *shakes fist*

-- Project Natal from Microsoft is still looking awesome.

-- Oh, and Pokemon HeartGold and SoulSilver apparently crushed the game sales when they were released in Japan. It almost makes me want to pick up one of them when they're released stateside. I love games where I can collect things. ♥

-- KINGDOM HEARTS: 358/2 DAYS COMES OUT IN ONLY FOUR DAYS OMG.
windandwater: (Oro?)
So, Pet has allowed me to borrow her PSP while she's busy doing her project. :3 I've been playing for a couple hours every day, and yes, I'm playing Dissidia. It's so fun!

cut for gaming babble and maybe spoilers )

And also, KH: 358/2 Days comes out in like, a week. I have it pre-ordered so I just have to go to GameStop and pick it up. ^________^
windandwater: (Oro?)
Sony finally announced their new PS3 Slims. And not only that, they've knocked $100 off the price of PS3s. Ahhhh... this makes me feel good because I knew there had to be a price drop coming soon, just so Sony could stay competitive. That and they're probably gearing up for when Squeenix unleashes its fury with a bunch of new games.

Slowly but surely, I get closer and closer to actually owning a console to play games on.
windandwater: (Smile!)
The noise upstairs didn't disturb the dogs that slept in the barn. They could sleep through anything. But a lot of the other animals were awakened by all the scurrying overhead. Some of them just accepted it... some where pretty annoyed... and a few quietly plotted revenge.

Your only hint is that it's from a movie. A children's movie, actually.

:3
windandwater: (THIS is Sparta!)
Surprise! Plants vs Zombies headed to more platforms.

HELL YES.

I love playing the trial of this game, and I am seriously close to actually buying it for PC. But if they come out with a version for the DS, I will buy it instantly instead. This is such a great, cute game, and it would work perfectly with the touchscreen.

*crosses fingers*
windandwater: (Oro?)
So, last night I came upon the marvelous discovery that Sony has made a purple Vaio. It practically screams that it was made for me. T_T ♥ Unfortunately, it's part of their Signature Series, which means a bump up in price, but it's like $899, so that's not too bad, especially with all the features and beautiful color it has.

Then today, I found out that Sony has dropped official info on their new Sony Vaio W Series netbooks. Yes. An official netbook from Sony, not the overpriced (but so tiny and beautiful damn why don't you have a touchpad) Vaio P Series. The netbook drops in August and will run about $500. Pricey for a netbook, but you have to remember the Sony tax.

It's like Sony wants to kill me. :/

Now, I will add this caveat: Yes, I know there are cheaper laptops and netbooks out there. I am quite well-aware of the fact that I'm paying a premium just to have Sony Vaio stamped over my stuff. But I don't care. I paid somewhere around $1500 for my Shukaku, my beloved Sony Vaio laptop. And he has been alive and kicking for nearly five years.

Let me repeat that.

I have been using the same laptop for almost five years. That is five years of me doing EVERYTHING from word processing, to internet, to downloading, to watching movies, to chatting, to fuckimg MMORPG, on my laptop. This is nearly five years of Shukaku being turned on nearly every single day for 12 hours. Five years for $1500 os a very good investment for me. Everyone who knows me knows that I would destroy practically any lesser laptop in a year.

And previous to this, I also had a Sony Vaio laptop that ran for 4 years (took me through the end of undergrad and beginning of law school). Previous to that I had a Compaq laptop that barely made it two years, and for nearly the same price -- as laptops were kind of new then -- and is the reason I will never buy Compaq again.

So, am I Sony's bitch?

Yes, yes I am. And I'm quite glad of it.

I still want that purple laptop.

I know there are some Shin Megami Tensei fans on my flist, so this question is for you, since I have no idea what the game(s) are like.

Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor is coming out this week for the DS. I am interested in it, but don't want to waste my GameStop giftcard on a game I might not like playing or wouldn't be interested in. So, who out there has played the Shin Megami Tensei games? There's like... a whole bunch of them or something, right? What kind of a game is it? I read something about how it's like Pokemon, but with demons or something and I don't know if that's true or not.

Please help me! Or else I'll just save my giftcard for 358/2 Days.

FINAL FANTASY VII HAS BEEN RATED FOR PS3 AND PSP.

You know what the world needs? Puzzle Quest fanfics. Why aren't there any Puzzle Quest fanfics?! I mean, my wizard totally has a hard-on for Syrus Darkhunter. Too bad he's all emo over his undead girlfriend, but that sorta just makes it angstier and more awesome.

No, this has not been caused by me obsessively re-playing the game. >_>;; OMG Syrus come back! Don't leave my party! I didn't know what letting that dude go would doooooooo.
