windandwater: (Mistress Sera Says)
At the moment I am:

-- doing laundry
-- flipping between the Super Bowl, the Puppybowl, the marathon of Being Human, and the marathon of Auction Hunters
-- doing things online (like FB, Farmville, RP, etc.)
-- playing Plants vs. Zombies on my DS

I have already:

-- finished 3 loads of laundry
-- cooked and ate my lunch of orange chicken and rice
-- killed zombies on my DS
-- done things online (of course)

I will be:

-- continuing to rotate through the channels depending on commercials
-- taking a shower (after the laundry is done because if I do it now the water will be cold the poor water heater)
-- probably killing more zombies
-- folding the laundry I've done or maybe I'll do that tomorrow
-- still being online :P

OMG SQUEE

GUESS WHO FINALLY HAS A PSP, BITCHES?!

THAT'S RIGHT.

ME.

And not only that, I got it for practically free, since I've been hoarding gift cards for a year. For the price of one new game, I got myself a shiny new PSP (black) and 3 games: Patapon, Knights in the Nightmare, and Jeanne d'Arc. I would've gotten Crisis Core, but they were missing the disk when I went up to pay, which made me all ;___;. But I think I'll be happy for now.

... until I start getting new PSP games for Christmas and birthdays.

>_>;;

I want Kingdom hearts: Birth By Sleep, Dissidia, Dissidia Duodecium, and Crisis Core.

BUT YES.

I AM SO EXCITE.

THERE IS NO HIGH LIKE THE GETTING STUFF AT A BARGAIN HIGH.
windandwater: (Smile!)
So I finally finished Kingdom Hearts: Re:coded. I feel so accomplished.

^_______________________^

Though, note that I said finished and not completed, because there's a bajillion quests and trophies I still need to get for total completion and I'm not sure I want to finish 100%.

But I do want to get at least 20 trophies, so I can unlock the secret ending that leads up to Kingdom Hearts: Dream Drop Distance. Even if I know what happens in the secret ending anyway. >_>;; Hush. I want to unlock it.

BUT OMG. RE:CODED YOU AND I NEED TO HAVE SOME WORDS. CAPSLOCKY RAGE KIND OF WORDS.

here lies spoilers and capslocky rage )
windandwater: (THIS is Sparta!)
Okay, so I think I'm kind of in love with everything DJ Earworm does. And thanks to the highspeed internet in the library, I have downloaded many many songs to keep me happy.

In other, more important, news:

KINGDOM HEARTS RE:CODED DROPS TODAY!!!

I shall be going to GameStop in a little bit and burning those giftcards I have to get the game. ^_____^ Don't expect to hear much from me while I roll around in happiness and frantically buttonmash for a week or something.

OMG GUYS

Dec. 9th, 2010 11:13 am
windandwater: (Oro?)
GUYS. GUYS. OMG. THE NEXT DISSIDIA GAME WILL HAVE LAGUNA AS A PLAYABLE CHARACTER.

LAGUNA.

LAGUNA LOIRE.

*flails around in spastic joy*

MY BURNING DESIRE FOR A PSP HAS SHOT UP LIKE 1000%.
windandwater: (Smile!)
I FINISHED KINGDOM HEARTS 358/2 DAYS!!!

I feel so accomplished and stuff. :3

And damn, I was so worried over the last battles (against Xion -- who has 4 forms -- and straight into Riku's battle), because the walkthrough I used was all like: OMG NO SAVE POINTS BETWEEN BATTLES BRING CURES. So I had like, 9 Curas equipped, 5 Elixirs, 3 Hi-Potions, and 4 Hi-Ethers. And... it wasn't that bad. Possibly because I was over-leveled from doing all the Missions, and Challenges and Mission Mode.

Also, possibly because I was cheap and just kept dropping Thundagas on Riku during the Deep Dive Battle until he was like, at 2 bars of health before I started mashing 'A'. I never was close enough to him for him to combo me until then. BWHAHAHAHAHAHA.

It felt really good to dual wield though, and cut through all those NeoShadows like butter.

windandwater: (THIS is Sparta!)
How much do I love Shin Megumi Tensei: Devil Survivor?

Answer: A lot.

I beat the game a couple days ago, but I purposely got the worst ending (i.e. the default and easiest ending), just so that I could play again on New Game+ and get the other endings. LOLZ oh you RPG games with multiple endings and things that are unlockable only on certain endings. It makes a completionist (like me) want to cry.

That, and the multiple Xanatos Gambits that the bad guys are throwing around. I can't wait until I get near the end again, so that I can start pissing Loki off. :/ Also, it sucks to have Metatron scold you for being a wuss and bringing the Apocalypse.
windandwater: (THIS is Sparta!)
In a continuation of my birthday joy, I went out yesterday (before my coughing and voice issues got really bad) and redeemed my free birthday coupons for stuff. It was a pretty good haul, and I'm so glad that I'm a member of those rewards clubs at my favorite stores. I walked away with:

-- two free pieces of Godiva chocolate (both truffles)
-- 3 tablets of Godiva milk chocolate (on sale and with a 10% birthday discount)
-- an eye-centered trio from Sephora (eyeliner, eyeshadow, and mascara)
-- Cookie Doughn't You Want Some ice cream from Coldstone
-- a cute purse and trio of Victoria's Secret body products (Love Spell lotion, body wash, and body mist); not free, but I used a $10 giftcard to buy it, so it cut the price in half, which is awesome because just the lotion is $10

The only thing I couldn't find was a GameStop with a used version of Shin Megumi Tensei: Devil Survivor, so that I could just get the instruction booklet. I like collecting things like that, and I sort of want the instructions and tips, because I sort of have no idea what I'm doing in the game, even if it's hella fun.

Unfortunately, halfway through my shopping joy, I started coughing harder. =___=;; It's pretty bad now. I hate unproductive (a.k.a. non-phlem producing) coughs. Dry coughs just hurts my throat and chest and I know that mucus is lingering somewhere.

My voice is pretty much bullfrog-like. I'm going between losing my voice completely and being able to talk, but I sound horrible.

Damn you allergy season. Damn you.
windandwater: (Smile!)
I suspect that my flist will be rather quiet for the next week, since Final Fantasy XIII dropped today. ♥

Have fun gaming, everybody! Stay hydrated!
windandwater: (Smile!)
The high point of the day:

I did enough surveys for eRewards, and now I've redeemed my points for another $25 giftcard at GameStop. :3 I think I'll sit on this one for awhile, since there's no new games that I'm really interested in getting.

The low point of the day:

The fact that it's cold and overcast still, and will probably rain again. :/ I'm sick of this weather, even though it's good for, you know, not having everything catch on fire or having droughts and stuff.
windandwater: (THIS is Sparta!)
So... everyone in the know knows that I've been absent lately because I've been raping the hell out of playing Dissidia: Final Fantasy. It's just so fun and there's so much to do, and the game rewards you constantly for things.I'm currently trying to finish Shade Impulse I with all the characters (just need Warrior of Light and Onion Knight), before I move on to Shade Impulse II. I have, of course, already finished the Destiny Odysseys with all characters at least twice each.

Playing this game so much has led to some wonderful observations and geekery.

-- FUCK YEAH SEPHIROTH. I unlocked him as a playable character (as well as his alternate outfit) as soon as I had enough points. Let me tell you, having Sephiroth run around half naked and killing things is endlessly fun. And he has a really really... I guess it would be beautiful way of fighting. He doesn't make too many extraneous movements, so he's very fast and deadly. He fights like he expects to kill everyone he touches with one strike. And that's usually the case!

Unfortunately, that also means that because he moves like he will OHKO everything, he has bad recovery time after an attack. >_>;; Seriously, after he connects an attack, he kind of stands with his sword out before a sort of flourish, which means if he doesn't OHKO (and I don't make him dodge fast enough after), he's completely open for a counterattack.

But it's okay, because I HAVE SEPHIROTH RUNNING AROUND HALF NAKED AND KILLING THINGS. Also, yes, he likes to set stuff on fire. His EX Mode attack (a.k.a. Limit Break) looks exactly like when he set Nibelheim on fire, and he's standing in front of the raging flames. Bravo, Squeenix. Bravo.

-- Have a massive hard-on for Firion. He's just so... woobie. He's an awesome fighter, which makes my life easier. But his dream of wild roses is just so cute. And he makes Cloud run around to rescue his rose which was stolen by Sephiroth. Bwahahahah. Hoenstly, why aren't there more Firion/Cloud fics, huh? I mean, really.

-- Kept expecting Tidus to burst into tears during his chapter, but he didn't! Also, he is fast, which makes me happy.

-- On a related note, Jecht, you are like the worst dad ever. But you teasing Tidus about crying like a pussy is hilarious. You are still a bastard though, and I fucking hate that you spam your attacks. You keep killing me if I don't get away. :/

-- Cecil, you are so so pretty. But that doesn't excuse you from being an absolute bitch to play. Why must you be so slow in Dark Knight form? And you jump like there's a ton of bricks attached to your feet. And WHY CAN'T YOU JUST START OUT IN PALADIN FORM? My life would be so much easier if I didn't have to do an airborn HP attack just to get you into you SO MUCH BETTER AND STRONGER mode.

Just... stand there and look pretty. :x

-- Squall... *hee* ♥ ♥ ♥ I have nothing coherent to say about Squall, except that he's badass and faster than I thought he'd be. Oyes, I will indeed spam all your close-range combos. ilu. ♥

-- Cloud... ♥ ♥ ♥ *explodes into sticky goo all over the place* Less emo than in Advent Children, but not as dorky as in the original FFVII game. But you can equip him with a Snowboard so it's all good! He's not as fast as I'd like, unless he's using certain attacks, but it's okay because his sword pretty much lets him Defense Crush everyone else.

Also, you can equip crossdressing accessories onto him (I really need to get my hands on that set), that gives him extra bonus boosts. Seriously. It's some set of accessories that is only equippable on the girls in the game. And Cloud. Bwahahaha. Yet another point in Squeenix's favor.

Okay, I'm done with my geeky squeeing for now.

*rolls away*

VICTOLY~

I HAVE KINGDOM HEARTS: 358/2 DAYS!

Do not be disturbed if I am suddenly absent online. Gaming is srs biznezz and between this and Dissidia, I have a fun gaming list. Also, I managed to clear both Tidus and Firion's story mods on Dissidia, and have started Squall's. I totally raped things yesterday, since it was my bonus day.

:3
windandwater: (Smile!)
For those on my flist who are interested, but not really following the news yet, Tokyo Game Show has already started. It's in day two already. :3 I haven't seen any really good announcements yet, but I figure I'll keep tabs on stuff I find interesting (and you might too).

-- Nintendo is dropping the prices on the Wii by $50. That means the system is now only $199. I can confirm this, since I've got a Toys-R-Us ad in my house right now that is advertising the system.

----> This is not only to compete with Playstation and XBox, which have been dropping prices recently, but also timed to match up with the release of the new Wii Sports Resort game, and the Wii Motion Plus.

-- Sony dropped the price of the PS3 by $100 and has released (or will release) the new PS3 Slim version. So for $299 you get a 120GB harddrive, instead of the current (fat) models, which I think are 80GB for the same price. Kind of old news by now, but interesting given how the "console wars" are heating up.

-- Sony also dropped the price of the PSP-3000 by nearly $50, but only in Japan. But in Japan, the PSP base price is more than in the US (over $200 once you convert from yen). I dunno if this means they'll be dropping the US (and UK, for you people across the pond) prices too. But it's pretty much to put the PSP Go into a better position.

----> Also, Sony is apparently going to be running a dual-console strategy between the PSP and PSP Go, instead of the PSP Go being an upgrade for the PSP. Bastards. Evidence of this is that they've pretty much shut down the rumored "trade-in" program for the PSP Go in the US, where you were supposed to trade-in your UMD games for a download to put on your PSP Go. So, that means if you buy the Go, you have to buy your games all over again. What a ripoff. Especially since the PSP Go is already priced like, $50 more than the PSP.

-- Squeenix has a rumored date of December 2009 (that's this December) for the release of FFXIII in Japan. Of course, that means the US (and rest of the world) has to wait longer, because of that crap idea to wait on releasing FFXIII for everyone else until the XBox version is done, too. *shakes fist*

-- Project Natal from Microsoft is still looking awesome.

-- Oh, and Pokemon HeartGold and SoulSilver apparently crushed the game sales when they were released in Japan. It almost makes me want to pick up one of them when they're released stateside. I love games where I can collect things. ♥

-- KINGDOM HEARTS: 358/2 DAYS COMES OUT IN ONLY FOUR DAYS OMG.
windandwater: (Oro?)
Sony finally announced their new PS3 Slims. And not only that, they've knocked $100 off the price of PS3s. Ahhhh... this makes me feel good because I knew there had to be a price drop coming soon, just so Sony could stay competitive. That and they're probably gearing up for when Squeenix unleashes its fury with a bunch of new games.

Slowly but surely, I get closer and closer to actually owning a console to play games on.
windandwater: (THIS is Sparta!)
Surprise! Plants vs Zombies headed to more platforms.

HELL YES.

I love playing the trial of this game, and I am seriously close to actually buying it for PC. But if they come out with a version for the DS, I will buy it instantly instead. This is such a great, cute game, and it would work perfectly with the touchscreen.

*crosses fingers*
windandwater: (Not Supposed To Be Here)
1) DAMN YOU, [personal profile] sukino! I CAN'T HEAR THE SONG 'POKER FACE' WITHOUT THINKING OF SPOCK. I AM BLAMING YOU FOR THIS.

2) Furries? In my Congress? It's more likely than you think! Auuuuugh. Why a pedobear. Wryyyyyyyyyy??? And he's on LJ, too!

3) I need to get my hands on Advent Children Complete LIKE BURNING.

4) E3 didn't suck this year!

5) I'm hungry.

6) I wish I could afford the PSP Dissidia bundle from GameStop. T___T

7) WTF. It suddenly rained today, and the weather's been cooling down all week. It'll be in the 60s by Friday. I'm getting freaked out since last year at this time, we were in the scorching 100s. Well, at least the electricity bill is lower since we're not running the air conditioner.

8) ... a corollary to #6 sort of: I wish I could afford all the DS games that I want to buy. Like Henry Hatsworth, and Shin Megami Tensei, and everything else. *sigh*

9) Still hungry.

10) ... I've got nothin'.
windandwater: (THIS is Sparta!)
FINAL FANTASY VII HAS BEEN RATED FOR PS3 AND PSP.

HOLY FUCKING GOD. They're actually re-releasing the game outside of Japan! This is why Squeenix (and Sony) owns souls.

Now if only they'd actually do a re-make with updated graphics. :3

*gurgles*

windandwater: (Do Not Anger the Gods)
For the past four days I've had a stiff neck that refuses to go away. The first day wasn't so bad, since it only started to feel stiff in the evening. The second day I woke with my neck feeling stiff and it was so bad by night time that I could barely sleep, because every time I shifted in bed, I woke up because of the stabbing pain. Yesterday was the third day and was the worst, as I could barely move my right arm at all, and reaching up for anything above elbow height was pretty much impossible, and I couldn't turn my head. I even accidentally bumped my right shoulder into a door (and jarred my head/neck), and the quick flash of pain was so bad I got all teary. It started to feel better last night, but I think that's because I was liberally applying Ben Gay and Advil all day.

T____T

Now my neck is still stiff, but I have more motion, and I can use my arms. I want this to go away. It huuuuuuuuuuuurts. And it's annoying to have to turn my whole body when I want to look at something.

I've been trying to stay sitting up straight or laying flat on my back (I usually sleep curled on my side). One good thing is that I've managed to play a lot of Rune Factory 2. I'm finally starting to make money, and it's nearly the end of Spring. And the girl I am considering marrying likes me! Whoo! Still not sure if I want to marry her or not though.

... I think I need more Advil. I didn't know stiff necks were supposed to last this long. T_T

Cheap Ass Gamer has a list of Black Friday Deals for 2008 out.

Now you can check this list and see if there's anything that catches your eye. And maybe anything that will make you wait outside in the cold for 2 hours for, full of good Thanksgiving dinner and wanting to sleep but you CAN'T because you'll lose your place in line.

>.>;;

Seriously, my Aunt practically left dinner right away because the Cabazon Factory Outlet stores opened up at midnight for Black Friday shopping. D: I was in a food coma and thus wallowed at home.

Oh, and for everyone else on my flist not particularly interesting in gaming geekery, here, have ALL THE OTHER BLACK FRIDAY SALES.
windandwater: (omg sex! / elle_hazard)
Who's interested in going to an election night party? K-chan? Pet? People in the area?

Aoi and I managed to (at the last minute) go to The Winery on the last night of the debates and it was pretty fun. The atmosphere was very laid-back and not-scary (no fistfights over politics yay). And the wine was very delicious by the glass (and either $12 a bottle for fruit wines or $15 for other traditional varieties). We were told that they're gonna have a thing on election night, too, so did you guys want to go?

I'm not sure if you can go though, K-chan, since I don't know your schedule. ;__; It would only be for a few hours on that Tuesday night. And I don't know yours either, Pet.

But Aoi's brother said he might be interested in going, and I told my cousin with the big you-knows and she said she's interested and might bring her boyfriend. And if Jason comes, he doesn't drink, so there would be a designated driver. >_>;;

-----------------------------------------------

For the Pokemon fans on my flist (and I know you're out there), Toys-R-Us is having another Pokemon download day. You'll be able to pickup a free Dragonite! Pokémon Diamond and Peral gamers can pick up their Dragonite's between 12pm and 4pm on Saturday the 8th and Sunday the 9th of November at Toys-R-Us stores.

I know you're all excited.

------------------------------------------------

And for even more geekery, yes, I will have to get my hands on Guitar Hero: On Tour Decades. Just the game itself, since I already have the guitar grip.

Because the full track list just came out and I think it's kind of awesome.

... I BELIEVE IN A THING CALLED LOVE JUST LISTEN TO THE RHYTHM OF MY HEART!!

T__T My voice isn't high-pitched enough to sing that song properly.

--------------------------------------------------

And Gaia finally came out with its MMO, the ever-elusive and near-legendary "Battle System"!! AFTER FIVE YEARS OF PROMISES IT IS FINALLY HERE.

And it's called zOMG!!!

:3

I've played a little, though I'm still in the beginning tutorial part because the wireless connection hates me. It's fun so far. ♥

This was made by the same guy who did Dead Fantasy I and Dead Fantasy II, so you know it's good. Haloid is a crossover of Halo and Metroid (if you couldn't tell), so Master Chief vs. Samus Aran is a go.

X3

It totally gets fanservice-y at the end though, because... well, a fanboy made this. And Samus has a Zero Suit form. :P

EDIT...

Lies. It gets fanservice-y halfway through once Samus goes Zero Suit. But it's even more fanservice-y at the end. And after the credits, that is so much fanservice that I am quite embarrassed for all fanboys everywhere.

But the animation is very good!
windandwater: (Bakura knows Carnage)
Karoshi Suicide Salaryman.

A really nifty flash game where the point isn't to live, but to die. You're a salaryman who needs to off himself. Some of the puzzles are really tricky, but I found the ones that were the hardest were the ones that needed a certain timing to get right. Having a touchpad on my laptop instead of a full mouse didn't help either.

But I made it through!

... okay, fine. I had to use a walkthrough for some of the last puzzles. But they were really hard!
windandwater: (blah blah blah by celest)
Figured I should actually write something in my LJ that isn't about my allergies. >_>;;

Firstly, since this Friday is the first Presidential Debate between Obama and McCain (if McCain doesn't back out of it like he's currently trying to do lolz). I'm actually interested in watching it, as the topics for the evening will be centered around Foreign Affairs.

There will also be a number of Debate-Watching Parties around Riverside County. I think it would be interesting to go to one, if I can get someone to go with me. Best bet seems to be at The Winery (non-partisan, but with wine) or at the Riverside Marriott (Democrats, with a $5 fee, and cash bar, etc., as it's in the hotel).

[livejournal.com profile] aoi? [livejournal.com profile] chibi_faolan? [livejournal.com profile] sukino? You guys in?

I'm leaning towards The Winery (even if Republicans will be there), because it's Fruit Wine Friday, and you can sample 5 fruit wines for free, and get a discount if you buy them. >_>;; This will also be nice if I can manage to have one of my gaming-and-drinking weekends, like I've been putting off for months now (I play Guitar Hero better when I'm tipsy truefax).

And speaking of...

The Guitar Hero World Tour Set List.

I know there's been lots of squabbling about which is better, Rock Band 2 or Guitar Hero World Tour. I'm not a big enough gamer geek to engage in it. All I'm saying is that my money is with Guitar Hero for one reason:

The Eagles, "Hotel California".

Yes. That's it. That one song sold the game to me. Though, the Jimmi Hendrix is very nice, too. But I'm not a hardcore game player like most of the people engaging in the Band Warz are. I happily plunk and squeak my way through on the Easy and Medium settings. I still like Guitar Hero better.
windandwater: (blah blah blah by celest)
Still snotty, but I'm getting better. Slowly. I can only judge because I can tell that I'm blowing my nose significantly less than last week. Maybe I won't rip through this third box of tissues after all. Maybe that was a bit TMI.

Unrelated to my snottiness, I've joined The Backloggery. It's a pretty nifty site where you can keep track of your game collection, and let people know what you're currently playing and where you are. My DS collection is quite small at the moment (and it's the only gaming system I have at the moment besides my laptop), but that's mostly because the games I really want to get haven't been released yet. And I don't have any money.

If you join, be sure to tell me, so I can add you to my friends list and stalk you. ^^

And as usual, some dragon eggs. All of these were bred from my existing dragons. :3 Whee~

Adopt one today! Adopt one today! Adopt one today!

And I've just killed my first Heartless! BWHAHAHAAHA. I am finally a good fangirl!!

In other, non-gaming related news, I am having a blast with Wordle. I think I'll make some of them for each of my fics (at least, the short ones). I particularly like how the Pookie one turned out and the colors in it. Heero and Duo and Pookie~ ♥ Yay!
