Goodbye LJ...

This is just to make it official for those who don't know, but I'm leaving LJ completely. For the rest of this week at least. Tomorrow is the Bar Exam and it runs for three days, so don't expect to see me about at all until Thursday night. Or even until the weekend since I plan on spending Thursday after the Bar drunk and crying. No online time for me at all. *whines* It will be hard, but I know I can do it.
So, because I'm a total h0r like that, I am declaring this to be a spam post. Go ahead. Run wild! Give me fics, give me links, give me pics, just babble to your heart's content and rape my inbox so I have something to see when I finally DO come back to the wonderful world of LJ. I don't even care if you write me a drabble and post it one word at a time. XD;
Though, I've tried to make a spam post before and it failed a bit miserably, so I don't have very high expectations this time around. Feel free to prove me wrong though!

Re: Spoil of War, prologue
Date: 2006-02-27 11:19 pm (UTC)Very much startled, Heero looked from the frightened figure in his arms to the simple wooden tub of water that had set him off, and began to back away. Almost as soon as he passed the fabric screen, back into his sleeping quarters, the boy calmed; he stopped struggling against the soldier’s hold, although the tension remained evident in his shuddering breaths and white-rimmed eyes. Heero eased him back onto the bed, straightening the twisted covers. For several long minutes he stood still and silent, watching his charge slowly calm, before turning and vanishing again behind the partition. He reappeared shortly carrying a bowl of warm water once more, and drew his chair up beside the bed. Finding a rag to use as a washcloth, he dipped the fabric in the slightly soapy water and began the tedious process of cleaning the boy’s abused and grimy skin.
Soap dripped onto the blankets; dirty water soaked into the mattress. Heero didn’t care. He didn’t know why the sight of open water would make the boy so desperately afraid, but he wouldn't force him into anything that frightened him. Not while he was still trying to earn the boy’s trust.
