This is just to make it official for those who don't know, but I'm leaving LJ completely. For the rest of this week at least. Tomorrow is the Bar Exam and it runs for three days, so don't expect to see me about at all until Thursday night. Or even until the weekend since I plan on spending Thursday after the Bar drunk and crying. No online time for me at all. *whines* It will be hard, but I know I can do it.

So, because I'm a total h0r like that, I am declaring this to be a spam post. Go ahead. Run wild! Give me fics, give me links, give me pics, just babble to your heart's content and rape my inbox so I have something to see when I finally DO come back to the wonderful world of LJ. I don't even care if you write me a drabble and post it one word at a time. XD;

Though, I've tried to make a spam post before and it failed a bit miserably, so I don't have very high expectations this time around. Feel free to prove me wrong though!

"Who's there?" a monotone voice cut through the air.

"'Nay, answer me,'" quoted Duo as he ducked around a large black tree. "Hiya, Trowa. What's been -- What is that on your shoulder?"

Trowa spared a glance at the appendage in question as he put his wand away. "You tell me, Duo."

"Why the heck do you have an owl on your shoulder?" Duo demanded, leaning in to get a better look.

"It was hurt," Trowa said vaguely.

"Actually, it should be useful," Heero said, following Duo around the tree. "My laptop will not function on the school grounds. If necessary, we'll use the owl to communicate with the doctors."

There was a slight rustling sound to their right, and all three pilots tensed, then relaxed as Wufei joined them. "Where's Quatre?" Duo asked, glancing around. "Could anybody tell him about the rendezvous?"

"Unfortunately no," Trowa replied, "but I have class with him tomorrow. I'll tell him everything."

"Why are you late?" Heero asked Wufei.

Wufei glared at him. "I would have been faster, but I had a run-in with a giant wolf. Apparently this forest is called Forbidden for a reason."

"It can't be that dangerous," Duo scoffed. "Apparently students with grudges come out here to duel all the time. Speaking of grudges, I've already collected half a dozen. How long is this 'special training' mission supposed to last, anyway?" Duo complained, flopping down to lean against the base of the tree.

"Who knows?" Wufei shrugged. "Until we can restore communications with the doctors, we can only act on the orders we were given. 'Blend in with the student population. Acquire as many practical skills as possible.' I suppose they think that wizardry will benefit us as pilots, although I do not immediately see how."

"The owl could send messages," Trowa suggested softly, but Wufei shook his head.

"The possibility of interception is too great. Who knows what our enemies are capable, of this point? Yui, you'll have to concentrate on reestablishing an electronic

line of communications."

"I'm already working on it," Heero said with a small smile. "Just as long as Duo continues to keep attention away from me."

"Yeah, yeah," Duo grumbled, waving one hand in the air. "I'm on it. Duo Maxwell, the one-man carnival."

"You've never spoken truer words in your life," Wufei assured him. Heero couldn't keep the smile from twitching over his face.

"Does anything else need to be addressed right now?" Trowa glanced around. "I can't stay away long without being noticed. I should head back."

"You probably both should." Duo looked from Wufei to Trowa. "Forbidden or not, people apparently come in here all the time. Speaking of which, some of my housemates are coming to try and beat the crap out of me, so you should probably be gone before they get here."

Trowa just nodded and left, with as little fanfare as he had arrived. "You have people wanting to kill you already, Duo?" Wufei asked dryly.

Duo shrugged. "I'm popular." Wufei smirked, and turned to follow Trowa -- his own wand out and cautiously ready, in case he should encounter some more unusual wildlife.

"Too popular for your own damn good," Heero growled, his expression darkening. "The Slytherin *boys* may not think much of you, but what was it those girls wanted to talk to you about at dinner?"

"What, Heidi and Azure?" Duo laughed and shrugged. "They were only interested because I'm from L2. They'll find someone else to bug once the novelty wears off. And -- Heero, didn't I tell you to leave?"

Heero crossed his arms over his chest in a stubborn gesture. "You might need backup."

"Oh, come on, Heero!" Duo snorted in contempt. "A half-dozen schoolboys against Duo Maxwell, Gundam Pilot? You think I can't handle it on my own?"

"But they're wizards," Heero insisted, a hint of concern leaking into his voice. "They've studied magic for years -- you're just a beginner."

Duo shook his head sadly. "It'll be a sad, sad day for the old school of L2 when one of its graduates relies on magic to win in a fair fight," he snickered. "Come on, Heero. You were the one talking about keeping the attention off you..."

"They're coming," Heero interrupted him, head cocked to one side. Duo let out a sigh.

"Just trust me, okay? Go back to the castle and get started on making your laptop work. I'll be right along."

Heero growled in annoyance, but had no real choice but to give in. Duo gave him a quick kiss on his left cheek, and grinned at Heero's glare.

"See -- I've survived the Yui Death Glare, and I should be afraid of a few magic tricks? Not likely!"

With a sigh of his own, Heero turned back to Hogwarts and started silently out of the Forbidden Forest.

"Check it out, Heero!" Duo's voice enthused. Heero didn't even have to look up from his work to imagine the look of mischievous delight on his face. "I got *goons!*"

After a moment, Heero glanced up; Duo stood at the foot of his bed, grin on his face, hands on his hips. Flanking him were two of the older Slytherin boys; a couple of the fourth-years that Heero vaguely recognized. Both of them were considerably taller, not to mention bulkier, than the American pilot. Heero let a tiny frown cross his face, and didn't try to hide the displeasure in his voice. "Duo..."

"Hey, Heero!" Duo put his hands up defensively. "I didn't ask for'em. They volunteered. They showed up for the duel with the fifth years -- you know about the silly duel -- and anyway after I kicked their butts, these guys decided that they'd rather follow me around instead of --"

"You don't need bodyguards," Heero said flatly.

"They're not just bodyguards!" Duo protested. "They're *goons!* I can send them to get stuff, and they make my witty repartee sound better by laughing at appropriate moments --"

"Duo."

"All right, all right," Duo sulked, then turned to face the older boys. "Sorry, Robbie -- sorry, Tom -- you heard the man. I guess you gotta take off."

At least now he wouldn't have to worry about Duo being in trouble with the other Slytherins. With a small smile, Heero turned back to his mission.
