This is just to make it official for those who don't know, but I'm leaving LJ completely. For the rest of this week at least. Tomorrow is the Bar Exam and it runs for three days, so don't expect to see me about at all until Thursday night. Or even until the weekend since I plan on spending Thursday after the Bar drunk and crying. No online time for me at all. *whines* It will be hard, but I know I can do it.

So, because I'm a total h0r like that, I am declaring this to be a spam post. Go ahead. Run wild! Give me fics, give me links, give me pics, just babble to your heart's content and rape my inbox so I have something to see when I finally DO come back to the wonderful world of LJ. I don't even care if you write me a drabble and post it one word at a time. XD;

Though, I've tried to make a spam post before and it failed a bit miserably, so I don't have very high expectations this time around. Feel free to prove me wrong though!

“Okay, I’ll admit it’s pretty, but it’s still too damn early to be up, Heero,” Duo yawned.

“Here.” Heero pressed a thermos mug full of steaming coffee into his hands.

“Oh, that smells nice.” Duo sipped slowly. “I feel better already.”

“We can have breakfast when we go back inside.”

“Breakfast? What is this breakfast thing? I only know lunch.” Heero started to answer, but Duo cut him off, laughing softly. “You know I’m kidding.” He wriggled on the damp grass. “You’re right, it is cooler. Chilly, in fact.” He scooted over to Heero’s side and slung an arm around him. “That’s better.”

Pleased beyond words, Heero leaned into Duo’s warmth.

“Goodness, but they’re up early,” the magnolia said. “The sun’s barely past the horizen.”

“Animals are so charming,” the cherry replied. “Look at how they’ve got their limbs twined together.”

The magnolia frowned a tree-frown, which nothing like a human frown. “Oh, but what’s the one with the willow-leaves doing? Oh, it’s ripping the grass up and...stop that, you beast!”

“I’m sure the grass is used to it by now,” the cherry chuckled. “And those aren’t willow-leaves. Animals don’t have leaves, they have hair. The grass will grow back, it’s fine. Huh. They are silly, aren’t they?”

The magnolia tree huffed, and her blossoms trembled. “It shouldn’t do that to the poor grass.”

“Well, it seems to think its mate looks better with bits of plant all over it; but then, most animals do...here, I’ll make it stop.” She shook her branches, as if the breeze was blowing, and showered the animals with the petals of her flowers, which were already falling only days after they had opened.

“I think that cherry tree decided to decorate us, Heero,” Duo said, picking flower petals out of the coffee and wondering if it would taste now of amaretto. Or was it marachino? He always got those confused. He pulled out a whole blossom. “Very pretty,” he called to the cherry tree. The cherry tree, of course, did not reply. It was a tree, lacking in ears, and in any case incapable of human speech.

“You were the one throwing grass at me.”

“Green is your color.”

Heero rolled his eyes. “Was it worth getting up early to see the morning?”

Duo nodded. “Yeah. I don’t think I’ve ever seen anything quite like it...summer is best in the afternoon...winter’s cosy at night, and fall is gorgeous any time...but I think maybe spring is best in the morning.” He began to sing, softly, “It’s spring again...and birds are on the wing again...something something-ing...don’t know all the words...”

“What are you singing?” Heero asked.

Duo shrugged. “Dunno.” He sang again, to a different tune, “I feel so gay...in a melancholy way... it might as well be spring! Oh, it might as...well be...spring!” He laughed, then leaned forward to kiss Heero on the cheek. But Heero turned his head at the last moment, and the kiss caught him squarely on the mouth.

They lingered like that for a moment, and then Heero pulled back and said breathlessly, “That was nice.”

“Yeah,” Duo agreed, grinning stupidly. “Wait, the singing or the kiss?”

“Both,” said Heero, and slid his arm around Duo’s waist.

Then there was no more talk.

(Except possibly that of the trees. But if there were, Duo and Heero certainly wouldn’t know, because they were humans, and didn’t understand tree talk).
