EDIT...

I'll make a real post and edit this again after I digest what happened. And after I digest my dinner. Lasagna yay.

EDIT IS FIERCE...

*burps*

Okay. I'm ready now.

Well.

So that was the finale, huh?

I hope I wasn't the only one who was bored. >_>;;

Let's just say that once I saw the collections, I knew Christian would end up winning. He brought the most drama. I questions some -- okay, alot -- of his designs. Christian, and this has been pointed out, does fashion for fashion's sake; he dresses models, but his stuff doesn't always translate into the real world. I hated the feather dress at the end and would never buy it or wear it, but it's absolutely great drama.

I thought Rami might end up winning since the judges have sort of favored him all season; plus, because of the mini-walkoff with Chris, Rami had a chance to get feedback and edit the collection that showed. Notice: he took out that one dress the judges hated from his runway show. Smart move on Rami's part. He didn't do everything draped -- which I almost missed! -- and he had some very interesting designs and surprises scattered everywhere through the whole collection. I agree with the judges that he showed a whole collection... a little of everything from a range of styles.

Jillian, I had high hopes for, but she did end up being muddled. Her collections was a little everywhere and not-quite-focused. Still beautiful and feminine and wearable, but not enough omph to win. I thought she started out strong enough, but then fizzled out.

Okay, enough with that. It's time for the ranting and bitchery, which is what I'm sure you're all here for. :P

WHAT THE FUCK WAS WRONG WITH EVERYONE?! THAT WAS BORING. IT WAS ALL BLACK AND MONOCHROME AND NEUTRAL. God. Even Jillian stayed in the safe color range (i.e.: BLACK). It got to the point where I was happy to even see the teensiest splash of color. Yes yes, there were color pieces scattered throughout the three collections, but they were almost forgettable amongst all the black and neutral. =____=;;

And Tim Gunn.... I love you. You're fabulous. But stop saying these were teh best designers evah. I kind of hated this whole season, or at least, was very bored by it. Not just because of the lack of drama either! The clothes, to me, weren't as exciting as the previous seasons. I think maybe it's because all the designers were already established to some degree; that tends to make them less likely to take risks, as they have a marketing standpoint already in their heads. Just... ugh.

Also, I sort of wanted to punch Christian in the face. Relating to the point I made above about him making fashion for fashion's sake, I hated that part where he was dressing his models. "I wore these shoes!" "Be skinny! Don't eat!" His disregard for the fact the models had a hard time walking in his shoes peeved me. Actually, his disregard in general peeved me. Once he spouted off that "don't eat" line, I really hated him even more.

Rami's boyfriend is cute.

I dunno what else to say. I think I might have to watch the episode again, but I think I got the major points I wanted to make.

Oh, and I'm so over Victoria Beckham. I still think of her as Posh Spice. Ooh and did anyone else catch that utterly jealous look on Carmen's face during the runway show? Hahaha she's still bitter over being auf'ed (it totally came out during the reunion show). But she's a bitch and I hated her; her clothes were ugly and then she didn't finish her outfit. XP

I haven't watched it, but I did check out the PR comm here in LJ. I don't think the result was a shock in any way, especially given who was guest judge.

No, once I saw the collections, I knew Christian was going to win. XP But I still have strong feelings about the collections themselves.

Christian's clothes were all too similar to each other. I think he's got the makings of a really great designer. His clothing always looks very well made. I'd just like to see more variety.

I wish Tim had told them all to vary the colors a bit. I found all the collections to be a bit too blah.

Btw, I was rooting for Jillian. I think she showed the most versatility during the whole season.

I agree with you about Christian. It was all ruffles and poofy sleeves and bib jackets and *STABSTAB* skinny pants. In black. =___=;;

I thought everything was blah too, mostly because of the colors, though the designs weren't much to write home about. Unlike last season where I was going "ooh" and "aah" and finding favorites, this season it was more like... "hey it's not a skinny pant!"

And yes, I was rooting for Jillian once Chris didn't end up showing. ;__;

I anticipated this ending. I'm not happy, especially given what was shown... yeah. But I anticipated it.

And WTF Tim Gunn coming in and reiterating this as the "best group of designers" this season compared to previous seasons. W. T. F. Period.

I'm not very happy either, which I will go into because if I start ranting now, I won't stop.

AND YES. WTF YES. *gags* I thought this season was pretty blah and boring.

I get what he was saying about the designs being "consistently" better... But.... I'm sorry, give me designers that will alternately disappoint me and blow me away with awesome, rather than designers that are just boring and safe week after week.

*nods* Safe isn't what makes me excited to watch the show. Unfortunately, lots of the designers were working from a 'marketability' standpoint, which is more safe than edgy. Sweet P, for example.

I don't blame you. I was hoping it would get better near the end, but it never did. :/ Not very much drama or good fashion at all.
