This is no longer Project Runway. This is Project Make the Designers Cry.

... more to come once I'm more coherent.

EDIT...

Edit says I watched the episode twice and am now ready to rant.

This will be in the order of how I think of things, because so much went on in this episode that I was sort of amazed. And highly entertained. This is kind of the best episode in this lackluster season, and had me yelling and gasping and giggling outloud.

First, as the cut tag implies... Ricky is fucking immortal. Maybe it's all just a ruse. You get caught up in his crying and wearing of high heels and being a pretty girl, and when you turn your back, he pulls a katana out of his jaunty little cap and beheads you. That's the only explanation for why he's still on the show. He's gonna end up this season's Wendy Pepper -- except was less bitchy and backstabby -- because he seems to be hanging on because someone else manages to fuck up worse than him. This is amazing. I rather like Ricky, since he does good work (imho) when he doesn't completely mess up. He's a lingerie designer! Where is his 'omph' factor?

I really liked this challenge overall, though I'm pretty sure lots of the designers don't know what avant garde really means. Too bad we lost the Crazy Lady, because I bet her dress would've blown everyone away. As it is, I really think Team Sissy Fierce really REALLY deserved the win; and not just because I'm rooting for Chris (yay Sissy Bear!).

As Tim Gunn told the designers: the dress doesn't have to be practical, it doesn't even have to be wearable. And man, Sissy Fierce's avant garde dress was EXACTLY that. Nothing says "non-wearable-but-gorgeous" like your model having to practically dislocate a shoulder to get into the dress in the first place. I loved the ruffled layers, I loved the over-the-top shoulder piece, I even loved the color of the dress on the model (I thought it would be too blah, but on the runway it was very nice). The ready-to-wear dress was kinda "eh" to me, though the ruffles on the shirt were nice to tie it in with the avant garde dress. You can totally tell that Christian did the ready-to-wear dress though, since it smacked of his 80s-vibe (thank god he didn't do a jacket with poofy sleeves).

Also, how awesome was it that Christian totally looked like he was about to stab Victorya in the face when she made that comment about: "We did three looks! We deserve to win!" That moment made me like him, just a little bit. And every designer saying they felt nauseous and wanted to vomit when being told they had to do a second look was awesome beyond words. If he wasn't so fabulous, Tim Gunn would've been dead a million times over for dropping that bomb on them.

Eh, and since I brought up Victorya, I might as well discuss Team Icy Bitch (>_>;;). I must say that the jacket they made was fucking gorgeous. That futuristic/punk/equestrian look would be hard to pull off but they made it work. And I was surprised at how much detail they had on the pants and shirt (especially the shirt) that was under the jacket. But you could really tell that the jacket was their thing and they were hanging everything on it to win. The ready-to-wear dress was kinda 'meh', but the judges seemed to like it enough. I kinda liked how dysfunctional the two women were though. XD! And how Victorya didn't want to be the team leader because she KNEW it was her neck on the chopping block if they did bad.

Ricky and Kit's dress though... OUCH. x___X;; I have to admit that their concept was interesting to me, but the execution? No. Goddammit, designers! Stop using fucking satin in your dresses! It looks absolutely horrible when it's not absolutely perfect. I liked the hoop and all the layers, and the back of the dress was more interesting than the front. But yeah, it very much had that "rip down the curtains" kind of vibe. I'm sorry to see Kit go, but as this was her design and she made the fabric choices, yeah... she was the one to go. And, I know people won't agree with me, but I kinda liked Ricky's ready-to-wear dress. It was cute; not the best thing in the world and not the best fabric choice, but I thought the design/style of it was nice. Always the bridesmaid and never the bride~ Poor Ricky.

And Rami and Sweet P. Oh Jesus. Completely unable to work with each other. And dear sweet God, Rami! I know you love draping. I love your draping. BUT AVANT GARDE DOES NOT MEAN MORE DRAPING. Their dress was definitely the most wearable, and in this challenge, it worked against them. Too bad Sweet P didn't have enough of a spine to tell Rami they had to go WAY over the top with the dress because THAT WAS THE POINT OF THE WHOLE FUCKING CHALLENGE. Sweet P's ready-to-wear dress, however, was very cute.

I haven't watched it yet, but I'm sorry at the results. I liked her, even though I knew she wouldn't win. The long dress from her team is one of the prettiest outfits I've seen all season.

Yeah, I didn't want to see Kit go. ;__; I REALLY thought Rami was gonna bite it this episode. Though, I can see why the judges kicked her out. I liked her avante guarde dress as a concept, but on the runway it didn't look very good.

Dammit, people. Stop working with satin! It looks bad on the runway when it's not absolutely perfect!

I'm not overly thrilled with this season. Honestly, I don't like ANY of the designers. Kit and Sweet P were awesome at the start, but...I don't know. I really think this is the worst season ever. ;o; which makes me sad.

I think this is a pretty crappy season, too, especially with all the hype it (and the designers) got. I LOVED Season 3 for the designs, and Season 2 for Santino. XD!

Hopefully in the next episode, everyone cries. Bceause it looks like that from the previews, and I love seeing the designers cry.

I loved Austin, too! I hated Wendy Pepper and wanted to strangle her, but Austin was fabulous.
