I find myself endlessly amused (and somewhat confused) about how people will routinely stand in front of the elevator and wait for like, 5 minutes for it to come up, when the stairs are right next to the elevator. And I don't mean people in wheelchairs or on crutches and stuff. Just normal (frequently chubby) people, who wait for the elevator instead of walking down the stairs. The library only has two stories, people. Walking down isn't as hard as walking up.

I also find it hilarious when I pass by the people waiting for the elevator, after they've watched me pack up my things and go down the stairs. Then they see me downstairs before them and they look all confused and pissed. Like, it's some miracle or magic that I got downstairs before they did, when they took the elevator.

EDIT...

I am totally missing all of my other icons. T__T I lost all of my tentacle ones. Damn you, LJ, for making me have to pay for the extras. *sighs* I'll have to shuffle through what's left and... delete. Or something.

that happens frequently to me at work. we have 4 floors, 3 flights of stairs, and i only take the elevator if i'm going up more than 2 flights (or carrying stuff i don't want to drop/spill/break).

people are just silly and too programmed sometimes.

:/ I'm glad I'm not the only one who sees stuff like this. I mean, it's only one floor, and it's not like the stairs are dangerous in any way (they're wide enough for two adults to walk up/down side by side).

I like elevator rides, but I also like going down stairs? (...okay, I LOVE elevator rides, but they're only really worth it if you're going way up, or, as you said, you're holding something/on crutches/very preggy!...sorta miss the glass elevators at the Jax Brewery at home...)--now escalators? Are the devil! >.

i think it would be awesome to see the elevator doors open... and then have this slippery blobby thing squidge out as if it's a common everyday happening~~

Geez O_O I can understand waiting for the lift if it's a lot of stairs, but a single floor? That's ridiculous!

Only time I've used the lift for 1 flight was when I needed the library and I was ill and having trouble walking very far -_-

I can admit that I've used an elevator to go one floor at my Uni, but that's only because that was the only way TO go up the building. The stairs were all access or fire escape stairs.
