Jesus Christ, Cassie Claire got published. And it's drivel. But at least it looks like it's her own drivel instead of blatantly plagerized drivel. :Db Well, you never know... there could be plagerism. I'm sure someone will buy the book just to tell us.

There is no way you're going to convince me that the world won't end in 2012 anymore.

Who is Cassie Claire?

She is/was a BNF in the Harry Potter fandom. She also wrote "The Very Secret Diaries" for Lord of the Rings. She's most widely known for being a blatant plagerizer, having legions of fangirls to mob and attack those who disagree with her, and also scammed her "fans" and got them to send her things like iPods and computers (?).

She's been on Fandom Wank and such sites alot. And she has a whole article on fanhistory.com

Damn. You've got to wonder how on earth she could pull the iPod/Computer scam.

And why she still had legions of fangirls even after getting caught plagiarizing.

She never even apologized for the plagerism, just saying that she "might have" read the book series she plagerized heavily from, and watches the popular shows she lifted her best quotes from, but that she "didn't mean to" use them in her fics.

... her Draco series has now been heavily edited and there are literally footnotes at the end of every chapter citing the quotes. She never discussed the plot/writing plagerism from the book series.

And she's CASSANDA CLAIRE. Of COURSE the fangirls are on her side because EVERYONE ELSE IS LYING AND JEALOUS OF HER LEAVE HER ALONE.

>_>;; Seriously, google her. It's revolting.

I did. It's amazing how she keeps fans after being guilty of theft many times, whereas Tom Cruise lost fans because he gave an opinion about something and showed just how low his IQ really is.

Cassie Claire must be really convincing.

Or the people that follow her don't want to admit they were stupid now that it's been proven they're stupid. >_>;;

Re: iPod/computers. She claimed her house got broken into and her laptop and those of her roommate and boyfriend as well as various other items were stolen. She asked for donations from her flist, for without a laptop she could not finish writing her fic. Apparently, so much money was sent that she got three new laptops and an ipod from the whole thing. No one really knows if she was actually robbed, though.

Still, if most any of us posted about losing our computers one way or another, all we'd get is sympathy and well wishes.

Such is the inherit insanity of the Harry Potter fandom. A lot of the people who donated probably got in trouble with their parents for using their bank cards without permission, actually. What amazes me is that the same person who promoted CC's "charity" refused to promote a woman who was asking for donations so she could have a life-saving surgery she couldn't afford. And THAT woman had proof that her story was completely legit. *shakes head*

What's hilarious is that the publisher of her books normally publishes books for the under-10 crowd. That's right, pre-teens.

>_O;;

She surrounds herself with professional asskissers or something.

fjahlfajk apparently he's advertising himself as a professional on the strength of that piece of shit, and I can't get anyone to employ me. What the fuck. Eight. Pages'. Worth. Of empty paragraph tags. Oh, and ridiculously basic HTML with no attention to design, alignment, or browser compatibility. *froths*

...yeah anyway, having read the first chapter (which is half in static Flash, what the shit), I agree with the asskissers sentiment. Mediocre fanfiction-style writing, rising to 'teenage creative writing project' at best, and too much fangirling her own characters. Who are all dull stereotypes we've seen a thousand times. No interest at all in reading any more of it.

I read the first chapter (well, part of it until I felt the bile rise in the back of my throat), at the canonsues post I linked. It confirms my opinion that she writes like crap when she isn't lifting stuff from others.

What disgusts me is that she's going to be making money from her drivel because her fangirls will buy the book, and the people who hate her will buy it to rip it apart.

She plagerized from more than one of her own fics! Amaaaaaaaaaaaazing.

The other night, there were three customer reviews on the book's page (two negative, one positive). Today, the original positive one remains, but the negative ones have mysteriously disappeared. There are also two brand new, positively glowing, recommendations that were just posted today (Monday). *grin* How much do you want to bet they were left by CC's "fangirls".

What I really want to know though, is how she got the negative ones removed. They were about the book itself and didn't mention her fanfiction/scandal at all. *raises eyebrow*

I think they might've been tagged as "abuse". But I saw that and was like... WTF. This gets better and better (?) every minute. Besides the fact that CC plagerized her own work, I found out that the book actually has a "makeover" scene in it. 'Clary Fray' gets to go to a party where she has to blend in -- she puts on a black dress, fishnets and boots and is suddenly hot enough to attract the attention of boys! Including her half-brother! Oh you crazy incest (which was also lifted from her Ron/Ginny fic that curiously has the same title as this book).

I'd like to know how she swung that, the one I read all the way through wasn't abusive in the least. o_O

Including her half-brother! Oh you crazy incest

Naturally. If she's going to be a Mary Sue, she has to be the ultimate Mary Sue. XD

Me, too, since Anne Rice tried to get her negative reviews removed and couldn't. I think this should put another check in the column that the Apocalypse is coming, that CC did something Anne Rice COULDN'T.

... but if CC starts writing about Jesus, I'm going to find myself a bunker and hunker down with canned food products.

And she really is so Mary Sue it's painful. And kinda author insert. Tsssssk.

Since she evidently has an "in" (by which I mean "rabid fangirl") with the publisher, perhaps she has one at amazon as well. It's the only explanation I can think of anyway.

Exactly.

CC has "ins" with so many people it's kinda scary. Apparently that one college girl who plagerized her novel ('How____ Got Kissed and Got a Life'? I forget the exact title) is/was a CC fangirl, too.
