So I'm going to a job fair tomorrow in hopes of getting my resume out there more and seeing what my options are. The last job fair I went to got me those interviews at the Place I Really Wanted To Work, even if it didn't pan out. I'm hopeful that this time I can be similarly lucky. I know that at least one of the employers at the fair is looking for legal applicants, so my fingers are crossed.

Of course, this means I'm going to be getting up ridiculously early in the morning so I can prep and primp and get my suit on. And I want to swing by Starbuck's because I feel I will need the caffiene boost. It's in Ontario, so if anyone in the area wants to have late lunch/early dinner with me (because I will be starving by the time I'm done), just tell me. ^__^

Unfortunately, I'm also breaking out like you wouldn't believe. =___=;; Hopefully it clears up some, or else I'll be slathering on the concealer and foundation tomorrow morning.

*hugs* What time will you be done? I have work from 6am-11am and then I don't have class until 3pm, though I gotta get to school at 2pm. :D

Crap. The job fair is from 11-2/3-ish. I don't know if I'll stay the whole time, since it depends on if there's any good employers there or not. I know I'll be there at least an hour.

Want me to just ditch class? I want my midterm back, but I'll ditch if you want me to. :D

You don't have to ditch class for me, Pet! D: I can call you or something tomorrow when I'm done. Did you want to meet me, or go to Montclair? I'm going to be at the Double Tree Hotel by Ontario Airport.

Well I'm really just going so I can get my midterm back. XD I can meet you depending on the time since I don't get off work until 11 anyways.

Oh, so it's not really a class? Just one of those "get your stuff and go" things? I'll give you a call then, probably around 12 or 12:30 if I'm only there alittle, or 2-ish if there's lots to see and I'm busy.

No it's a class. XD It's Shakespeare, but if you want to meet we can because I've only missed class like once this quarter.

Tomorrow my Schedule will be as such

6am-11am: Work at Barnes and Noble

11am-2pm: Sit at home/Sit at the Boy's place

2pm: head to class (if I'm going)

3pm-5pm: Class (if I go)

5pm-10pm: Anime Club (if I go)

Well, we'll see how it goes tomorrow then. ^^ It would be fun to have lunch, but you can't make fun of what I'm wearing.

Ontario. Wait. You're talking about a city named Ontario, right?

Cause there's a whole province (state) named Ontario in the great white north here.

*ponders*

Good luck on the job fair!

^^ Yes, Ontario, CA. Not Canada. I wouldn't go THAT far for a job fair.

That's what I thought. Nothing really worth much over here. Definitely not where the money is located.

Do you have any advice on getting people to remember you at a job fair? I find it really difficult to stand out in interviews or in job fair situations.

Well, I always make sure to dress properly (suit always, since I'm in law). You should alsp have a good resume that isn't longer than 1 page. Make sure to research the companies beforehand if you can, and make sure to be assertive when talking to the recruiters. If you already know about the company, they are more likely to take interest in you.

Also, when I dress, I make sure to wear something subtle, but interesting. Like, I almost always wear a black suit, but instead of just a plain white or blue shirt underneath, I sometimes wear this nice light purple one I had tailered, or a red and gold striped one. It's a little surprising, but still professional, and helps me not look like everyone else.

Yeah. My resume is pretty weak -_- but I'm working on it!

I never thought about wearing an interesting shirt underneath. Of course, you don't want to go crazy, but interesting.

*nod* I understand how asking the company representative good questions can be a good thing. I suppose that it's something that should come naturally if you're really interested in the company. I have yet to really figure out what kind of job I'm interested in (even though I'm graduating this year >_>;). I'll figure something out.

Thanks for the advice!
