well it would just be that I'd get to nap in between getting off at midnight and then getting up at 4am to get back to work. It would jsut be really rough, but if my mother can do it for a hospital and such, I think I can do it. I've done it before only it was at 6am. I'll try and find an alternative, but I'll do it if I have to.

Pet-san? I'm supposed to ask you about Montclair tomorrow... here is the train schedule I'll be going by; I figure 7:41am and probably 9:16am are too early; 11:36am? 1:06? 2:11? 3:21? Would any of these be feasible?

Hm... okay, here's the thing...

Metrolink on the weekends... to say it blows is an insult to everything else the phrase has been applied to.

According to the website, on Saturday there are two trains that go from Downtown Riverside to LA -- those are at 6:30 am and at 1:00 pm. o_O The glitch is that I took the train to Riv for my folks' anniversary (that being the 12th last month) and there was an updated schedule that showed one extra trip. But you'd think the website would be current... and it's possible that schedule was only for Thanksgiving. I've no idea, and I tried to call today during the day so I could talk to a live person, but it seems that Metrolink really is no more than one big computer system; there's no option to talk to a person, even on a weekday during business hours. D:

The overnight offer's a huge relief, though -- buuuut say we're at Ontario Mills... and after we're through, we swing past, like... Rialto? Fontana? Rancho Cucamonga? Upland? I can't think which is closest, but the thing is, though there's only two trips that leave from Riverside, there's a total of ten; eight of them originate in San Bernadino, without coming from Riverside first.

So I figure that's easily workable; this leaves the question of arrival time: If I come to Riverside, again there are two choices -- trains arrive at 3:30 pm and 9:55 pm. Um... Yyyeeeaah, it occurs to me that might be a little bit of an... um... obstacle.

For reference: here's the San Berdoo Saturday schedule I'm looking at; the trains from here start running much earlier than that, so... if someone can meet me at, like, Rialto or Fontana or whatever, then I think we can plan it...

And uhmmm... well, if you stayed overnight, I think I might be able to take you back. Or at the very least, swing by a better train station. I dunno when the earliest you can be in the area is. o_O;;

Pet-san!!!! Are you reading this? I posted a link to the schedule; the train out there stops in Montclair at 7:55am, 9:55am, 11:50am, 2:15pm, 4:23pm, and a few more times probably too late to be relevant -- would any of these work for you? And d'you know where the train station is?

Hm... well, I have tried the Yahoo version of that -- the Javascript Buddy List window, right? And it didn't work here, disconnected right away. Dunno if that's because the connection the DSL goes through is old and crackly, the fact that SBC is a h0r, or if Apples (and maybe spricifically this one, it's got some interesting quirks) have trouble with some of the scripts like that...
