You'd think the fandom was old enough to not need a whole community devoted to ranting about the same stuff that was bitched about 10 YEARS AGO. Hey, windsorblue, maybe you should watch it for the GW wiki thingy. I'm just going to stay away from that comm, for the sake of my own nerves and sanity.

Nonsense. I just try and keep a sense of humour. Makes the wank go down easier sometimes if you can point and laugh as much as possible.

Snarking from afar is quite different from attacking these people directly, after all, and while I think it would be amusing for the comm's first rant to be a rant about ranting comms (Sheesh. Try saying that 3 times fast.), I certainly don't plan on feeding the trolls myself.

It's really useless to get stressed out over wank that you aren't involved in. I mean, people flaming YOU is one thing - people flaming each other? Let 'em.

So GWing has wanky trolls and some "popular" sorts who apparently think the world revolves around them. (Though, I personally have yet to see any BNF who truly fits that bill.) There are GWing hate comms and rant comms and people who send nasty emails and flame wars and pairing wars and whateverthefuckelse. It's not like every other fandom on the net doesn't have those exact same issues. Maybe not as widespread, but wank and fandom go hand in hand.

Easier to just sit back and laugh whenever possible. It saves you the stress and keeps you from being so disgruntled so quickly in the long run. You can't escape it, no matter where you go. So...why not just have some some fun mocking teh st00pid?

Well, it's the same concept behind fanficrants, but just GW-specific. I know lots of fandoms have a ranting type community, but usually the newer ones with ongoing canon, and not something like GW.
