windandwaterHere, have a drabble-that-decided-it-didn't-want-to-be. Blame Itachi for everything. I tried to tone down the creepiness, but he wasn't having any of that. *kicks him* Uchihacest... but not what you're expecting, probably. Unless you're one of the people I told about this not-drabble. XD;;
Uchiha Itachi is thirteen years old when he loses his virginity.
It is not a monumental event, though it colors his memories, painting shades and shadows over his thoughts. Some might have said he was too young for it, but Itachi has always been older than his years, and curious of everything in his own lackadaisical way. Some might fear knowledge but Itachi has always craved it, and sexual relations are always portrayed as a forbidden fruit; he could not stop himself from taking that first tantalizing bite. And Itachi has always thought he was fortunate, for Shisui is always a gentle lover.
When Itachi leafs through his memories, Shisui is there, smiling at him. Never patronizing, never cruel, at least never to Itachi's knowledge. Itachi had always looked up to his cousin, the often talked about Uchiha Shisui, a genius even among the Uchiha. He had always pushed himself to follow Shisui's footsteps, to surpass the older boy in everything. Uchiha Shisui who was a marvelous shinobi. Uchiha Shisui who follwed his orders perfectly. Uchiha Shisui -- Shunshin no Shisui -- whose speed was said to be surpassed only by that of the Fourth Hokage. Uchiha Shisui whose shoulders bent under the burden of the Uchiha Clan.
And Itachi remembers practicing with Shisui, testing his own mettle. Pushing and striving, hoping to some day come close enough to even touch Shisui's level. He remembers Shisui's smiles and kind words as he patiently guided Itachi's body through taijutsu and ninjutsu and genjutsu, when the rest of the Clan held in their eyes fear and suspicion of Itachi and his own genius. He remembers how his breath caught in his throat and his heart pounded loudly in his chest no matter how hard he tried to control his response, the first time Itachi saw the red fire of the complete Sharingan spin to life in Shisui's eyes. Itachi remembers that Shisui should have railed against the Clan that held him back, that stopped him from joining the ranks of shinobi and forced him into the Police Force instead. He vividly remembers kunai and shurinken flying from Shisui's long, almost elegant fingers, striking with deadly accuracy in their training field that day Shisui was denied and chained down by the Clan's expectations. And most of all, Itachi remembers Shisui sliding a hand through his hair, saying softly that his duty was to the Uchiha and he would obey.
Even so, as Itachi's own genius was upheld and he was pushed forward into the ranks of Konoha shinobi, a prize to be ogled and feared -- look here, this is what the Uchiha are -- Itachi remembers Shisui's smiles, his kunai flying through the air of the training field, and the expression that lingered deep in his eyes as he watched Itachi push up the ranks.
"Aah, Itachi-kun, you're ANBU now. You've surpassed my own level so quickly."
That is so wrong somehow, because Shisui has always been above him, a star in the sky that Itachi could never hope to touch. Yet here he is, age thirteen, and Shisui's hand is on his shoulder, and Itachi outranks him. And it is Itachi who leans forward, fisting his hands in Shisui's shirt -- his hands are imperfect compared to Shisui's -- tugging the older boy down. Their eyes meet and Shisui nods and Itachi knows that his favorite cousin understands him.
"I did not buy you a present, but if you want this, I will give it to you."
Under the light of the full moon in the sky and million stars shining bright, Shisui takes him there in the middle of their training field the night Itachi is made ANBU. The village, the Clan, the world, everything falls away under Shisui's touch, and Itachi is pleased because here, at last, is one more thing Shisui can teach him. And Itachi goes to Shisui as often as he can, in those months following his joining of the ANBU. He goes mindlessly and numb into Shisui's arms, his clothes ripped and his hands covered in blood, and it is Shisui who bathes his body and soothes his soul and takes him again and again until Itachi can sleep without the dreams coming.
But Itachi has learned other truths out there in the world. That there are powers and knowledge greater than that of Konoha... greater than that of the Uchiha Clan. Itachi is being tested, like a new blade from the forge, and as he pushes himself forward, he realizes that he is now leaving Shisui behind. It makes him restless and angry because Shisui should be at his side, learning and growing and finding these truths; Shisui should be the one Itachi is forever chasing after. Instead, Shisui is like a faithful dog beaten and chained to the Uchiha, and Itachi is the one being chased and by his own brother no less.
There is one day when Itachi returns home and finds Shisui waiting there at his door, smiling in that soft and serene way. Something buzzes in the back of Itachi's mind and his eyes feel like they are burning and he pushes Shisui inside and into his room. Shisui falls with a laugh on his back on the bed and Itachi straddles the older boy, hurriedly ripping off his mask and armor.
"You are impatient today, Itachi-kun. It is lucky that we are the only ones in the house right now."
And Itachi is pulling off Shisui's yukata, pushing the older boy down again. And Shisui is surprised by Itachi's passion but submits. Itachi is seeing red in his vision and he doesn't know why, all he knows is Shisui is beneath him, under him, submitting to him and he does not fight or say a word. Not when Itachi reaches for the oil, not when Itachi forces his way between Shisui's legs, not when he is buried deep inside his cousin, his eyes spinning with the Sharingan unbidden. But as they move together -- Shisui has always called it love-making -- Shisui's eyes go from coal black to bloody red and Itachi groans and moves faster. Itachi has never felt so free, so wild, so untamed; he feels strong and powerful and Shisui is submitting to him. Shisui throws his head back and comes with a soft cry, and Itachi continues to move, urging, wanting... why is this not the same? Why is he not reaching his peak? Shisui... Shisui... where has your fire gone? There is a noise further in the house, Shisui is moaning under him, and when Itachi finally comes, it his younger brother's voice calling for him ringing through his ears.
"'Nii-san, are you here? 'Nii-san!"
Itachi collapses on top of Shisui, the older boy holding him close and petting his hair. Sasuke's voice disappears out the door again. And Itachi is panting, struggling to catch his breath and trying to will the burning in the back of his eyes to go away. Shisui's arms go limp around him, his breathing evens, and Itachi manages to roll himself to the side, watching Shisui's sleeping face. He traces the lines of worry and mirth around Shisui's face, fingers old scars on Shisui's body, lays his hand over Shisui's chest and feels the too kind and gentle heart beating there beneath his palm.
And in that moment of peace and calm, Itachi knows what he must do.
"The Uchiha Clan is weak and relies on its name for strength rather than true power. The duties of being Uchiha are oppressive and I cannot live this way any longer."
