HAPPY FOURTH OF JULY!!!

I hope everyone has a good day, with lots of picnics or barbeque and fun and fireworks! ESPECIALLY FIREWORKS.

So, yay, I did my grocery shopping today. There were lots of people at the store, actually. A lot were picking up 4th of July type last minute things, but there was a lot of people doing regular grocery shopping like me. :3 I was surprised.

Splurged again on the groceries, but I'm happy that I have my club card. XP It got expensive because I bought a lot of fresh things again (bananas and apples and RASPBERRIES YAY), and stuff for today to celebrate. But toilet paper was on sale, so I consider this a plus. XD;;

I seem to be drinking a lot of Propel, too. ^^;; It's pretty tasty and has vitamins and things, so it's better than regular water, right? I guess I need all the nutrition I can get, since I eat so poorly. And I saw Luna Bars on sale. I didn't buy any though. Has anyone eaten them before? [livejournal.com profile] aoi? Are they any good? I think they might be better for me than granola bars or NutriGrain bars for breakfast. Ah, but I have milk again, and I finished my antibiotics, so I can ingest dairy now, right? I can have my super tasty cereal again?

Bwhehehe.

Okay. After a bit of a rest (and ingestion of liquids, because I feel headachy and dehydrated), I shall do my chores and cook up my Fourth of July dinner.

And, just for [livejournal.com profile] kwycksylver...

Beef barbeque ribs, corn on the cob, and potato wedges, with chocolate cake (and maybe raspberries) for dessert.

HA!

Sounds delicious!

For us it's charbroiled hamburgers (with bell pepper and onion mixed into the meat), homemade potato salad, chips, a chorizo and cheese dip and sliced avocado. For dessert I made an apple pie and a chocolate pie with whipped cream and fresh strawberry slices on top.

I've had Luna bars, they taste like vitamins. If you'll read the wrappers, you'll see their percentages; calorie/fat/carb/nutrient wise, aren't any different than the granola or nutrigrain bars, which in themselves aren't much different than a regular Twinkie/Ding Dong type snack cake.

Oh. So they don't taste good? Because I was looking at the different types they had and they looked interesting. Then again, names always look interesting, but flavors are different.

Let's see, how to describe them? They weigh heavy on your stomach and they have kind of a doughy, undercooked quality like an undercooked cookie. It's not just the Luna bars that are like that, all the "health" bars are.

I don't think I've tried those yet, just the Balance and the Luna bars but if they're supposed to be the same or similar, I wouldn't doubt their consistency is the same.

actually, i thought the chai tea luna bars were not bad, and one of the few 'health' bars i could tolerate.

But were they really like undercooked cookie dough? I don't think I could handle something that sits heavily in my stomach.
