Kishimoto's really good at making me tear up even when he's not killing or horribly maiming characters I love.

I suspect that Kishimoto is giving us the flashbacks to make the dramatic aspect of Gaara not dying more poignant. Plus, when Naruto freaks out over his lover Gaara's death, it will be cooler.

But with all the recent developments, I'm formulating THEORIES on how Gaara will stay alive and become Naruto's love slave.

And Neji is so full of hoyay. He's all: "... Naruto... I love you. Please notice my sexy new look. You know you want to slowly strip off these flowing clothes to reveal my yielding body..."

He DID. He said it with his EYES.

And Lee is so heterosexual that he can act as gay as he wants. :3

Ehhh, do you want the serious theories or the crack!theories? And it would be a harem, obviously. Naruto has lots of stamina, remember. One will never be enough and he loves EVERYONE.

This is where the kage bunshin no jutsu really comes in handy, huh? You can judge the scope of his romantic ambition by the symbolic flashbacky-thing where his panels slowly grow to include the entire village.

Well, depending on how much of a bastard Kishimoto is, Gaara is Not Going To Die, but Chiyo-baa will. From what we've been told already, to make a new jinchurikki (sp?) you have to suck the bijuu out of the current host and stick it in something/someone else. But then the host dies. Chiyo-baa has also said that SHE was the one who put Shukaku into Gaara (presumably on the orders of the Kazekage/Gaara's father). Of course this brings up questions of what technique she used, since Yondaime died sealing Kyuubi into Naruto, but Chiyo-baa is still alive. Then again, Gaara's MOM was the one who ended up dead, so either way, sealing a demon into a host requires some kind of death to occur.

My theory is that Gaara is still... conscious, somewhat. He's Not Dead Yet. Chiyo-baa can come in and seal Shukaku back into Gaara again. Of course, she will end up dead. But she seems to be pretty spry, like Sarutobi; and Sarutobi managed to seal Shodaime, Nidaime, AND Orochimaru's arms before running out of juice. Chiyo-baa might have enough left in her to seal a demon again (because I would assume sealing a demon is more difficult than sealing human souls).

Chiyo-baa is going to end up dead, she's old and she's going to give Sasori "some love." She's showing that regret over her actions, so this would be her final redemption act. Maybe she gets some good hits in on Sasori before Sasori freaks out and realizes Kakashi's dad (the White Fang of Konoha) was the one who killed HIS dad. I see a Kakashi-Sasori fight in the future.

I don't know about the rest of Akatsuki though. Only Sasori and Deidara are PHYSICALLY present at the site. The other Akatsuki members are using that version of Kage Bunshin to help with the soul sucking ceremony/jutsu. I don't know how close they are to the place, and I don't think they have anymore lackeys to use the soul transfer jutsu on (the one Kisame and Itachi used).

BUT... I don't know if Itachi (if he's close enough) would be willing to let Naruto get away from him again, since Itachi is the one who's supposed to get Kyuubi. Deidara said something like "Don't blame me for what happens," or something like that in 262. I think this means Deidara is specifically going to go after Naruto (hell, he took down Gaara and only lost an arm). I don't think Deidara and Itachi like each other much. ^^;;
