I don't know whether to laugh or to cry
May. 24th, 2005 10:58 pmWell. So. First day of BarBri Bar Review.
You know what, I'll just cut this right here, because I like using the cut tag. Plus, I want to tease everyone. Because certainly, more happened today than I expected.
I'll just do this chronologically, since that's how I remember my day best. :3
So, stress and worrying and printing out map directions kept me up until 3am, even though I was TRYING to be in bed by 2am AT THE LATEST. I hate when my brain won't leave me alone. Anyway, I got up at 7am, less tired than I would have thought but that, also, was due to the stress adrenaline crap. I wanted to leave early today, so that I could figure out the bus thing and give myself time to walk around downtown San Francisco lost while I looked for St. Mary's Cathedral (my class is in the huge lecture hall there).
It turns out the bus stress was unwarranted. I just have to take the 9, get off at 11th and Market Street, walk a bit to the corner, and hop on the 39. Or something like that. I just have to go up Van Ness, so I asked the next bus driver who stopped if he'd be stopping at Van Ness and O'Farrel. Very easy, and much yay. Also much yay is the Rite-Aid in front of the bus stop, because even with my stress, I STILL forgot to put a pad of paper in my bag for notes. >_<;; I bought one there, as well as a nice sized bottle of water, figuring I'd drink the thing during class (which lasted until 4pm today because today we had the Introduction as well as the Evidence lecture).
Off the bus at the appropriate stop, I stood on the sidewalk and tried to get my bearings before trotting off. Yay for the maps I printed out! The walk wasn't too far (under 1/2 a mile I think), but it was also... UPHILL. Yes, those who know me will know what a torment this is for me. Not only uphill, but when I got to St. Mary's I walked up STAIRS. Then promptly had to walk BACK DOWN THEM because the lecture hall was in the downstairs part of the building.
>_>;;
So after I checked in to the class and got my handouts and chose the first seat I found (in the back at the end of the row because the damn place was HUGE and PACKED), I ripped open the water bottle and chugged. It was a good thing I bought it, or I would've died. Seriously. The introdductory lecture was pretty blah, normal stuffs. We were walked through the course and the exam, etc. *weeps* I seriously will have no time. There's this huge ass schedule that we're supposed to follow, that has lectures EVERY WEEK DAY, and we're supposed to do 5-8 hours of other studying outside of class in addition to the lectures. *sighs* That's why I have so many huge books with drills and essays and examples and outlines and... *brain sizzles* Seriously, there's TWO DAYS on the scehdule marked "TAKE THE DAY OFF." Only two. Every other day is marked with what we should study. Including Sundays.
*feels soul die a little bit*
We broke at about 10:30am for lunch, and we had to be back at 12pm for the first Evidence lecture. I saw a few of my classmates from GGU and we chatted, then three of us (including me) decided to go have lunch together. I agreed, since I didn't know where anything was.
It turns out that the Cathedral is about two blocks away from Japantown. Let's have a moment of silence for the imminent and foreseen death of my bank account. *silence* Right. This is so bad. We had a very tasty lunch (I got katsu!!!) at a place in the mall where the Kinokuniya is. I'm such a geeky fangirl. And it's amazing, but apparently, I CAN spend and extended period of time with people and not have to know their names. ^^;;; Well, I know them but can't remember. I'm sure it will come to me and I'll commit them to memory. I'm so bad with remembering names.
Well, after lunch (which was an UPHILL WALK AGAIN -- going TO Japantown is downhill), was the Evidence lecture. That was also blah and ordinary, even if I was feeling tired and in need of a nap by this time (little sleep and a full belly does this to me). But I managed to stay focused and took notes and such, mostly because the guy I was with when we went to Japantown (damn WHAT is his name? He's married and his last name starts with... I forget. I'm horrible) sat next to me because someone stole his seat when we came back. I guess seating is a free-for-all. XP
He doesn't do very well sitting in the back because he gets distracted, so we started passing a piece of paper back and forth and writing notes and stuff. It was so very high school. XD We had numerous conversations that ended with us having to destroy all the papers we used to write on because they were incriminating. He did, however, manage to find out that I am Teh Untouched By Any Man, and was quite shocked. >_>;; Kinda weird. I mean, it's not like I'm theonly 25-year-old virgin in the world, right?
... ANYWAY.
I found out stuff about him, too. Ah, and he's the guy I sat behind in Remedies. He's a big techie geek. And he has a PSP!!! I snatched it from him during one of the lecture breaks to look at it. It's so awesome! So, we kept ourselves awake during the Evidence lecture (the lecturer was very enthusiastic, it was nice), by pretty much gossiping. XD! And he offered to give me a ride home (at least part way), since it turns out we live sorta near each other. He knows that I take a scary bus 9or at least, a scary bus late at night after the Remedies class). I was pretty glad, since I sorta forgot to get the directions on how to get BACK HOME. XP
After class, we both went back to Japantown again. He wanted to get some new pens from the store there and I wanted to go to Kinokuniya. I was bad. I bought the newest issue of ASUKA solely because it has Kyou Kara Maou on the title, and is packed with inserts. And I bought the Second Naruto Data Book. X3 I also couldn't find it on the shelves, but ordered all five volumes of Loveless. They'll come in about 4 weeks. X3!!! I was in a tizzy, but I'm glad that I didn't buy much more than that. Have to save up for future trips, after all.
Then he drove me about halfway home because his wife called asking about dinner or something. It was kinda cool. We got onto Portrero and we saw the 9, and so he chased it until it stopped. I jumped out of the car and ran up and got on. Hehehehe. Didn't have to pay fare either, since I went in through the back door because the driver was having problems with the front door.
Then I got home in the regular way. And had a bit off food and drink because I was starved and thirsty after all the exercise and walking uphill (my calves are sore right now). Then I sorta fell asleep, but I'm glad I woke up to have more food and water and to get online. Hahahaha.
Let's see what happens tomorrow, shall we?

Date: 2005-05-27 10:08 pm (UTC)Besides - there are more important things in life than men and sex. Frankly, I'm planning on steering clear of that kind of intimacy for a while yet. Too much baggage goes with it that I just. Don't. Need. >_>
