I saw Professor Sompong in the elevator as I was going up to my locker and he told me that I was nominated for an award!!! OMG! He said there were only 4 given out and I got one of them! *bursts into tears* This means that my law school career wasn't wasted! I'm not a low-grade loser!

Hrrrrmmmmm... vaguely spoilery but the only way I can make this work is after the first half of the manga when Sasuke [BEEP].

They fuck.

They can't really call it anything else, because it's brutal and hard and they both fight each other with everything they have. It always starts out with a real fight -- not like the spars that Kakashi-sensei used to have them go through -- a fight with kunai and shurinken and Sasuke's fire jutsus and Naruto's kage bushins. Sometimes the fight starts because Sasuke is often sent to Fire Country -- specifically Konoha -- to gather information because he's the most knowledgable about the area and the defense. No matter that Kabuto is more qualified and better suited for spying. Sasuke knows that these "missions" are a test. A test to see where his loyalty lies. And when he goes, he can't help but wonder and look and see just what Naruto is doing; is he getting stronger? Is that possible? And Sasuke can feel the blood in his veins boil at the thought of that blond idiot outstripping him yet again.

Mostly though, the fights start because Naruto is more tenacious than any nin-dog, tracking Sasuke through forests and other countries like a bloodhound on the trail. And then there's the confrontation, where Naruto pleads with Sasuke -- pleads with his fists and feet and the Rasengan -- to come back home. And Sasuke always replies back arrogantly and angrily -- with kunai and kicks and his Chidori -- that he has no home until Itachi is dead. And so the two boys beat each other bloody, ripping up endless stretches of forest and landscape in their efforts to outdo the other.

And at the end, when they both collapse, it is always Naruto who crawls, inch by painful inch, to where Sasuke lies. And it's only then, when both of then are hurting and exhausted, unable to fight with their bodies or chakra, that they come together. Lips and teeth and bloody hands grapple and stroke, moving over each other in a dance they both know so well. And, when Sasuke's ripped and stained clothes are pushed to lay against Naruto's, he doesn't feel outstripped or overshadowed. Because he's the one making Naruto moan, he's the one hissing at the blond to go faster, go deeper, fuck you, dead last, if you can't do it right I'll do it myself.

And Sasuke looks down into blue eyes covered in a hash of pain and pleasure and something that looks like happiness, and he knows the same look is in his own black eyes. And Sasuke pounds faster, filling himself with Naruto and allowing himself to finally feel. And Naruto's grip is tight on his hips and he's bucking so hard, Sasuke thinks he might be thrown off and tightens his thighs and then they're both coming, screaming into each others' mouths and not caring if the Leaf and the Sound were to find them tangled together.

They pant and wheeze and shudder together on what's left of the grass. Sasuke dares to lay his head against Naruto's chest, listening to the rapid heartbeat beneath his ear. Naruto dares to tangle one hand in Sasuke's ebony hair and pet gently. And there's only a brief moment between heartbeats when they both recover, where their lips press together in something that isn't anger or lust or violence or the promise of death. And then they roll apart -- a groan from both as Sasuke pulls off and Naruto slips out and Sasuke can feel the familiar wetness down his thigh and he knows Naruto is watching -- pull on their tattered clothes and stare at each other.

And they part, because they know this will happen again.
