Grrrr... Tuesdays
Jun. 15th, 2004 12:47 pmWell, this day is starting out and continuing to be, rather strange. When I went down to breakfast, there was no one around. Literally. Normally classmates are in the cafe, loading up on breakfast before class. I normally see everyone there, and sometimes we decide to take taxis to school together to split the cost.
Today, nothing.
I got pretty freaked out and had to check the time and date a million times, to make sure that I didn't forget to do something or was late or anything like that. Starting off the day paranoid doesn't make me very... well, happy.
And when I got to campus, no one was about either! I set down my bookbag in the empty classroom, and the empty lounge area and finally saw a few people in the comp lab, but not nearly the crowd that's usually about. People finally showed up a bit late but there's still some missing people. Quite strange.
... my horoscope said that I should take my time and I would get everything done. Huh.
Oh, and AIM Express is acting up like a TOTAL bitch and won't let me do hardly anything or send one message without dropping me. I suppose the building's network is busy... there's a lot of the regular Thai students about, too. Haven't really seen them here until now.
I signed up for the Ancient City and River Kwai daytrips, but that's next weekend. I'm trying to decide what I should do THIS weekend. There's a group going to Phuket, and another going to Chiang Mai. I don't know whether I should go with one of them or not. See, my problem with going with the groups is:
1) I don't really know the people/are friends with them, and I get weird about strangers.
2) Nothing is planned... like accommodations and stuff. The plan seems to be just to trek down and hope for the best. That makes me EXTREMELY nervous and twitchy, as I am quite particular about certain things.
3) I don't really like just going out to drink and socialize. I am quite happy to spend my time shopping or seeing the sights... not spending my souvenier money on overpriced beer.
4) ... I'm getting kind of crampy and sore and I think I'm about to have my monthly surprise. >_>;;
But I really want to do stuff since the time is so short. There's this weekend, next weekend (Ancient City/River Kwai), July 4th weekend (Full Moon party trip), and the last weekend before I leave on the 14th of July (a Wednesday). I really should've planned to stay longer, but I guess I'm not the backpacking type. Everyone is talking about how good it is to get out of the city (Bangkok), but I quite enjoy it. ^^; There's so much to see and do (and shop), and nature hikes have never really been my style.
But I DO want to go to Phuket... and Ko Samui... and maybe Chiang Mai... *whimpers* Maybe I should visit the tourist places and see what sort of deals I can get. At least that way I would be sure of the transportation and lodgings, even if I have to pay more for it.
*yawns* I feel very laggy and tired today, aand I still have one more class. Have to remember to buy more bottled water, too. If it stops raining or lets up some, maybe I'll go out tonight. I think I'll do Silom/Patpong on Wednesday.

Date: 2004-06-14 11:09 pm (UTC)it's loud, and there's yucky, old European tourists who eat shota thai girls for breakfast... *shivers*
and there are no pretty, rentable thai boys there either *snerk*
in the north you get history, and cooler weather, and Chiang Kai-Chek stories... >_>; *doesn't even know if you're interested in that* ^^;
-_-; Phuket gave me a trauma *cough* - but Chiang Mai rocks. ^^; the landscape up there is pretty too.
