Um, I'd be happier if it was an F/K icon (although it is very nice). I'm just not into breaking up S/S. To me, that's a canon couple.

Well, yes... I adore F/K and S/S... it's just that I absolutely adore this scene in the manga. And it fits with the "someone loves you" as this scene happens after Subaru is blinded and Seishirou bites the big one.

... and Kaumi is just so damn uke.

I probably shouldn't mention this, but I actually had an idea for a post-X fic where Fuuma and Subaru have comfort sex. *ducks from all S/S, F/K and S/K fans*

It's after the end of the series, so you know what happens to Kamui. Fuuma goes back to being his old self, with no memory of what happened. He wants to know where Kotori and Kamui are. Someone has to tell him, even though they know he's going to hate himself when he hears what he did. Subaru volunteers.

The story would bring them together in sort of the same way Subaru and Kamui come together. Both of them would be lamenting the loss of the one person they really loved. Subaru would have to teach Fuuma how to forgive himself, which is ironic since I don't think Subaru is quite able to do the same thing with his own actions. Maybe in the end, Fuuma succeeds and helps Subaru get over his own past. I'm such a romantic.

So yes, I really did imagine Fuuma and Subaru. I hope that didn't scare you too much. *grin*

Ohhhhh... that actually sounds like a good idea. You didn't scare me at all. The only problem is that Subaru is so far down into his own angst that it would be difficult for him to comfort Fuuma. I mean, in the latter parts of the manga, Subaru locks himself in a room with an eye in a jar.

Still... it sounds so good! Especially if it's good!Fuuma and not sunglasses!Fuuma.

I like to think that Subaru would come out of that eventually. He's just too strong a character for CLAMP to be that mean to him. Besides, in the end of the anime (and I really only know the anime) the whole world seems to be a better place, and I think Subaru seems like he's much better. At least, I think he was... Damn, it's been too long since I saw the ending. I'm only up to the end of Vol 6. Maybe I can convince Jay to watch Vol. 7 this weekend. *wink*

It could be fun to watch Fuuma and Subaru comforting each other. Who knows why Subaru would volunteer to be the one to tell Fuuma what happened. Maybe he does it to hurt Fuuma, but then finds that it's really not his fault. To be honest, I had this idea at least a year ago and I never really thought it all the way through. I can still remember discussing it with MadamHydra in my hotel room at last year's Shoujocon. *grin*

There's not enough good!Fuuma fics. He was such a sweet guy in the beginning, and I'd love to see stories about him and Kamui before the change. Especially first time stories!

And yes, I'd like to think that Subaru would get better, too... but... ehehe... his sister died and he did a total 180 in personality. Then Seishirou died and it went downhill from there. Add to the fact that Subaru is now the new Sakurazukamori as well as still being the head of the Sumeragi clan, and that's a lot of weight to carry on your shoulders.

There's also that damned, "Boku wa... kimi wo..." thing hanging over his head. I found out awhile ago that in the script for the episode, Seishirou actually ends that sentence with, "... ai shite..."

*screams*

But, yes... I could see a mutal comfort thing happening between Fuuma and Subaru, if Subaru ever stopped angsting and Fuuma, you know, didn't commit seppuku immediately.

Heh, no one has to prove to me what Seishirou's dying words were. I know he told Subaru that he really did love him. Damn, why'd he have to wait until then to admit the truth. *cries*

I'm one of those folks who views Subaru/Seishirou as canon. No doubts whatsoever. :-)
