I don't really know how to organize this in any other coherent way besides this. So, as I have a wont to do, I will rebut the statements made, line by lean, in hopefully what will be a clear and concise manner.

I'm sorry to inflict this on anyone out there, that's why it will be cut. I don't feel particularly well at the moment, and have an intense desire not to be taken out of context.

I just want to take this opportunity to say that all of the unpatriotic little shitweasles who sit in their dorm rooms watching Sailor-fucking-moon and ranting about "fics" (whatever the fuck that is) need to take just a minute to think about how much they OWE the men and women who had the sack to do a little something FOR their country and the freedoms that the afformentioned shitweasles take for granted.

Firstly, I do not take my freedoms for granted. My father served in the United States Navy for 20 years, forcibly retired because of the governmental policy to promote younger men with less experience than seasoned seamen who deserved it more. My grandmother had her fingers truncated during World War II when the Philippines was invaded. I am quite well aware of the freedoms that my father, and many other men and women in this country have pledged their lives to protect.

Secondly, it would be quite hypocritical for me to spit on those freedoms, as I am currently working to pursue a career in which I will help to protect and expand those freedoms.

I take great offense at the way you have attacked my character. I will proudly admit that I am still studying, but it is at an American Bar Association Accredited Law School, in a well-known University. I am pursuing my Juris Doctorate in the Law, so that I may one day help protect those freedoms that I hold dear. Yes, I am not taking up arms, but I feel that I am doing my part, just in a different way. And please, do not take this opportunity for cheap lawyer-bashing. In the end, it is not the gun that will bring us peace, but the pen.

As for my opinions as such, I will also state that I have completed my Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science, with an emphasis in International Law and Relations. I like to think that this gives me a right to make decisions and air them in a manner I see fit. I have been trained to see all political situations in an even and neutral manner, taking all sides of an argument into account before stating any opinions.

I would also like to point out that in my post, I stated my opinions besides the fact that I was watching the news reports on CNN. I had felt that by announcing that the President would be giving a speech, that I was doing people a favor, as it came rather suddenly. Within a half-hour span, Bush was addressing the nation. Most people didn't even know that he spoke again in the first place.

Perhaps my concerned invitation was ill-termed. Was it my reference to the President that offends? Or the links I had placed previously? The links to political satire which are wholly protected by the First Amendment, yet another right and freedom I hold very dear?

Do you mean to suggest, perhaps, that people should simply sit quiet and let the so-called leaders of the country run heavy-handed and act with magnanimity? If you suggest such a thing, then you are not looking for a democracy. One of the recognized tenants of democracy is the freedom of speech and press... to have a nation of people who are not unafraid to voice their opinions, who are not afraid to disagree with their elected leaders... those leaders who should be representing the PEOPLE, and not their own interests.

It is, I think, profoundly unamerican for these Scholarship students and trust-fund babies to badmouth their country, their President, and the armed forces.

Are you suggesting that because I have a scholarship, that I am somehow un-American? My scholarship was earned through my blood, sweat and tears... a scholarship I rightly earned because of my economic status and academic achievement. And I could only wish to have a trust fund... or any funds for that matter. I have taken out numerous loans to fund my education. I will leave law school approximately $70,000 in debt... a debt that will take me upwards of 30 years to pay off fully.

And why?

Because I love Law.

This kind of rampant fuck-wittage is what I've come to expect of sad-assed, tree-hugging, birkenstock-wearing, tofu and kasha-eating, Beatles listening, hippy wastes of life that think attending a war protest is a really good idea.

I do not fall into such categories that you have listed. Not once have I attended an anti-war protest. Though I may mention them, I cannot help but do so, as I attend school in a city known for its liberalism.

I do not hug trees... but I also don't wantonly call for slashing and burning.

I do not wear Birkenstocks... I'm wearing a really ratty pair of Van's classics that I haven't had the opportunity to replace because I don't have the funds to do so.

I do not like tofu... and I don't even know what kasha is. I'm lucky if I eat twice a day.

I do not listen to the Beatles... while I respect their music and consider them true innovators of sound, it's just not my thing. I prefer to listen to alternative rock.

I am not a hippy... I'm going to be a lawyer.

Listen up, motherfuckers: you sit protected by the goodwill and patriotism of others.

Yes, thank you for telling me. As I previously stated, my father has served. Also, those who join the armed forces are doing so of their own freewill. I applaud them, for they are able to do something which I cannot, which is kill on orders from a higher up.

I will not discuss those drafted into the military here.

Many of you are immigrants, or your parents are-don't think that you have the right to bitch about anything unless you, or your parents have served.

And now you attack me because my parents are immigrants? My father gave up his citizenship to his country of birth to serve the United States. I was born here, a citizen. I was even conceived in the United States, if you want to get technical. I do not see what point you are making by drawing such a plainly discriminatory line between citizens and naturalized citizens. This statement simply reeks of blatant racial discrimination.

Am I somehow less because I am not a Caucasian?

Until you have, you remain simply one of the tired, the poor, the huddled masses. And those masses had better thank their lucky fucking stars that they live in the lap op the greates nation in the world when they could be living in a goddamn mud-hut in the PI or some other third world country who hasn't yet mastered basic sanitation.

And here, you paint a rather unflattering picture of the way 90% of the world lives. Yes, I am quite glad to be living in the United States, as I have been afforded many opportunities that I would not get otherwise. Of course, if my family did stay in the Philippines, I could probably be a corrupt politician by now and have my private militia kill off my enemies.

Support your country and it's defenders, you hippy shitbags. All replies or comments can be sent to SCHAFERHUND5@aol.com; subject: Hippy fucksticks.

I'm sorry, but just because I announce opinions that are not "patriotic" or "American" does not mean I do not support the nation.

I'm sorry that I am a person who believes in a world where armed conflict does not occur.

I'm sorry that I believe that war is horrible and bloody.

I'm sorry that I feel sympathy for those innocents and refugees who will inevitably be caught up in the crossfire.

I'm sorry that I think the best thing to do now, is to value the policy of state sovereignty.

I'm sorry that I think that the United States is being an aggressor in a war that we should not be fighting.

I'm sorry that I know way too much about the way government and politics work... that I can see this war as the smoke and mirrors routine that it is.

I'm sorry that I believe in the right of free speech and opinion and that I deign to actually use that right in an intelligent manner.

Wait.

No.

I'm not sorry at all.

Credit where credit is due.

A-ha. Now that I have a livejournal account of my own, I can take credit for my posting. I said it, and I say it again. Let me say that what I said has NO bearing on anyone being caucasian or not. I have no idea what race you are, nor do I care. My comment was directed to you because of what you say. I don't respect the fact that you bash your president (yes, you do have the right to do so) and I don't respect the fact that you are so anti-war, but never manage to make it to the protests.

<<I do not see what point you are making by drawing such a plainly discriminatory line between citizens and naturalized citizens. This statement simply reeks of blatant racial discrimination.>>>
I make the distinction between those who take from our country, yet contribute nothing toward its defense and those who stand and contribute. America is filled with such parasites.

<<<I'm sorry that I am a person who believes in a world where armed conflict does not occur>>

I'm sorry you believe this way, too. It's terribly naive.
And this is just the icing on the cake. This statement alone shows what the younger generation has lost through DNA damage due to their parents using too many drugs in the 70's (most likely mine, as well)...

<<<In the end, it is not the gun that will bring us peace, but the pen.>>>

Spoken like a true lawyer. How, exactly? How has a pen EVER won peace? Did it work for Bismark when he devised his "peace through treaties" idea in Europe? The pen has never brought peace until the fighting is over. History is made on the battlefield. Peace is WON there, not negotiated for. I'll quote Thomas Jefferson to close: "The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants."

Um, when has war ever created peace? If you're going to look at Biskarck and World War One, then you must also consider the fact that despite the huge loss of life, the removal of the Kaiser, the reparations placed on Germany to punish her for her agressive behavior, World War Two happened as a direct result of the problems created in World War One.

Bismarck's ideas were undercut by a Kaiser set on military glory, and a people hungry for glory and blind to the cost of it. Who knows? It might have worked, given the support it deserved. Unfortunately human beings have always been too eager to use force rather than reason and compromise. I don't believe peace by negotiation has been given a proper chance here.
