Have cut this post, though I generally wouldn't because I feel like it. This is to spare those who don't care, aren't interested, don't want to click, or whatever.
And this is just why my day has been bad, discounting the current events and comments running rampant in my LJ. That deserves an entry all its own.
So, I woke up this morning to the announcer on the radio telling me it was 7:32 AM. I remember laying in bed thinking: "Oh, that's nice... it's 7:32... FUCK!!!"
See, I generally leave the house at 7:36 to get to the BART Station and catch the 7:48 train into the city. So I scrambled like I was on fire. I grabbed the first clothes I could and yanked them on. Yes, I managed to brush my teeth and hair, not doing so is gross. But I went to sleep last night with damp hair, so this morning it was all poofy and messy and I couldn't do anything with it.
I also forgot to grab my scarf, but I snagged my sweater. And I think I pulled something in my back because my bag is unnaturally heavy.
I drove like crazy to get to the station, and luck was on my side because as I ran up the escalator stairs, the train hadn't arrived yet. Lucky!
Anyway, when I got off at Mongomery, it was to the curious sight of... nothing. No businessmen in suits, no buses and other traffic running down Market Street. I looked down the street just in time to see some guys yanking down newspaper boxes/dispensers to block off the street.
Yes, that's right... I walked RIGHT into the middle of an anti-war protest.
Needless to say, I made my way to school as fast as I could. I know there was another rally at Civic Center, but apparently 4th Street had some action, too. And a lot of other sidestreets. The buses and traffic all had to be re-routed because of it.
Constitutional Law class was more interesting than usual, as part of the discussion was on the War Power. I also checked my e-mail for the first time in class and got a rather nasty surprise. I don't want to talk about that now though.
It was weird because during my break, while I was in the Library, I could HEAR the cheers and yelling of the people who were rallying. o_O* Civic Center is a couple of blocks away, and the Library is at the bottom of the school. They were THAT loud. Kinda mind-boggling.
When lunchtime rolled around, I guess I was more out of sorts than I thought. I couldn't manage to finish my baked potato (it had bacon, too, dammit!). I spent the last 5 minutes sitting at the table, trying to choke it down before I felt really ill.
I wandered to the classroom early as usual, and it had be usurped by the counseling services people, so that everyone could talk about the war. >_<; I went over to the computers on 2nd Floor to wait it out. Like I wanted to participate in any of THAT.
Property was fun. I totally spaced out because the professor decided to lecture using the ONE LAST CASE int he Supplement that I hadn't briefed while I was studying. I took notes, and I'm sure it will all make sense once I read the case. We're just learning about the apportionment of lease rights anyway.
So, my back hurts, my stomach is upset, I have a headache and just generally feel blah. I need to do something to amuse myself.
