These Halls Plus things with the gooey medicated centers don't taste that bad. Well, okay, I've tasted some really nasty medicines in my time, so maybe I'm biased. They just taste like regular cherry cough drops. Except the gooey stuff... which is... well, you can tell it's there.

... I hope I stop coughing.

I want soup. For lunch.

*looks sadly at chocolate bar* I'm sorry, I can't eat you because chocolate is bad when you're sick. *frowns* Don't look at me like that. Stop it. I want to eat you, really! *wince* I don't love you any less... I'm just sick and... no... no, stop it... I shouldn't...

*unwraps chocolate bar*

Whoo, yeah, I'm talking to my food. That's never a good sign.

Well... :::thinks::: The common cold is a virus, which isn't really affected by sugar. But if you have a bacterial infection, then sugar is a great base for growing bacteria. However, bacterial infections are far less common than the common cold. Which is called common for a reason... it just depends on what you have, that's all.

... it's in my throat. It's probably strep again or something. That's bacteria, right? I probably shouldn't be eating Oreos and sucking on cough drops at the same time.

:::shrug::: A cold can be anywhere. But yeah, you've most likely got a bacteria. No sugar, none. Zip. Gargle with warm salt water, too. You'd be surprised how much that can help.

... I could always toss you into the ocean... but that'd be too cold. Hm... how does a trip to Oahu sound?

That's bacteria, right?

::nods::

[student-mode]

streptococcus: a gram-negative, non-catalase producing, beta-hemolytic cocci usually found in the normal flora of the upper respiratory track. Causes strep throat, which should be harmless enough... unless, of course, you end up catching the hyleronidase(sp?)-producing strain, which breaks down connective tissues. in that case, you're basically screwed. ^_^v!!

[/student]

but k-chan's right too. the common cold is usually some sort of rhino-virus. ^_^.

... and i can't believe i actually *remembered* all that. ~_~;;

Wow! I'm impressed! Of course, you've studied that stuff. I still don't think I can rattle off parts of the UCC or FRCP at the drop of a hat like that. And they should've just ripped out my damn tonsils when I was a kid... *grump*

Dude, I'm impressed, too... I don't think I can even *pronounce* all of that!

But... isn't it tonsilitis that you can prevent by the removal of tonsils? Being tonsilless won't prevent strep, I don't think...

Yeah, but me being sick all the time is connected to my tonsils. I always get tonsilitis and strep and whatever. All my colds settle in my throat. I blame my tonsils. *kick*
