Yay!

I'm actually getting over my cold! FINALLY! I can breathe and my throat doesn't hurt hardly anymore. I still cough, but it's not so bad.

I actually pursuaded [livejournal.com profile] aoi to go shopping with me yesterday! XD XD XD See, I have to be in a certain type of mood to go clothes shopping, and thus must exploit these times when possible. I don't have problems wandering around in a shirt and jeans, but sometimes I have to look nice. *gag* Damn me for entering a field where appearance is important. Plus, the after season sales are pretty sweet. Everything I bought that wasn't a food product was 50-75% off. ^___^

Actually, it was rather insane becaue I went shopping because I wanted these pants. Just jeans, but they had this wrap around skirt thing, sort of like a sarong. I like that sort of look. But after checking the prices, Aoi-chan I realized that, hey, we have plenty of pairs of jeans, we just need the wraps. So we went on this rather mad spree through the stores looking at scarves and wraps. It was sort of scary, but it was fun. There were some REALLY nice ones at Robinsons-May, but they were $46. Of course, they were also embroidered silk so... >_<

Eventually we *did* find affordable ones at places like Claire's. *winces* Imagine that... looking for accessories at accessory stores. We even went from Tyler to hit the Mo Val Mall because we weren't done shopping.

I actually managed to buy three things at Wet Seal. One dark red sweater-type top, a blue stretchy shirt-type top, and this really nice ankle length skirt. I don't wear skirts alot, but both tops match with it. ^^V Plus, I've been thinking of trying to pull off that skirt/sweater look.

It's sort of geeky, but I figure I need to get used to wearing skirts. Yeah, business suits come with pants, but women still get more attention if they have short hemlines.

*kicks the glass ceiling*

We also, of course, raided Suncoast (they still didn't have any new stuff up, dammit) and got lost in the aisles of the B. Dalton and Walden's Books stores. Heh, and I got to have my orange chicken for lunch. And chocolate chip cookies! YUM!

Ah, I also managed to get Aoi-chan to witness the yuri that is t.A.T.u., and she likes them. And she agrees that the CD spawns bunnies. Of course, for here, they're art ones, but it's okay. I'm not crazy in thinking this CD is somewhat addictive. Plus, girls singing in Russian!

Now, lemme see... today I mostly kicked back like a sloth. I FINALLY had the inclination to watch all the new anime I managed to get my hands on. ^_______^ Yes, now I am on an Anime high. I really have to watch this stuff.

First... Fushigi Yuugi Eikoden was COOL. I liked how they wrapped up the storyline in the manga with the second OVA, and that had a pretty good end that didn't need more explanation. Of course, then the Gaidens came out and the pervasive rumors of more FY being released hit everywhere. I have to admit that I got a thrill. I'm a rather large shoujo fan (heh, it's not all boys with big Gundams for me). Plus, FY was the first series I ever bought fansubbed, and it was what hooked me firmly in the anime fandom.

Eikoden was just... well, I have to admit that of the OVAs for FY, I still like the second OVA best. Next would be Eikoden and then the first OVA (though, I think everyone nearly agrees that the first OVA is pretty much crap). But Eikoden provided a really great look into the way Taka and Miaka's lives end up. Of COURSE they got together, but actually seeing them married (Sukinama Miaka... made me go O_O before I melted), AND Miaka being pregnant was great. Of course, from the end of the second OVA I thought they had a boy. o_O*

I was a bit disappointed by the fight scenes, but the art was okay. Mostly it was strange to see everyone all aged up. Especially Tasuki. O_O It's been 10 years in the book, so Tasuki was 29. Damn. He was hot. He had long hair! *licks* Plus, for some reason, I was thrilled to see that Yui still wears Nakago's earring. Tetsuya still wears his sunglasses. Taka is still obsessive about money. It was little details like that, that really won me over.

But I didn't like the "new" Suzaku no Miko. She was... unbearably nuts and depressing to me. I couldn't stand the way she called Boushin, "Boushin-chan"... he's the freaking Emperor of Konan! She had no respect for him OR Houki. That reminds me... good looks must run in Hotohori's family. His brother was a cutie. And Boushin looks like Hotohori did when he was a boy.

I think Eikoden would have been better if it was longer, since a lot of stuff happens. Mostly, the storyline ran so fast that I was going: "Huh?" some of the time. Plus, the "evil bad guy" was sort of... lame. The explanation made sense, but... I still like Tenkou. Now HE was an Evil Bad Guy.

No, no... I don't just like the second OVA because of Ishida Akira. ^^

And, dammit, we didn't get to see Suzakuseikun in his human form! *pouts* You'd think he'd make an appearance! I *adore* Suzakuseikun. He's very droolable in human form.

Still, all in all, very worth the price I paid. Will be watching this over again. Especially since I didn't pick out Amiboshi, Subaru, or Tokaki the first time!

Second... .hack//sign... I MUST HAVE MORE OF THIS SERIES.

I only have the first episode, so I am rightly confused about what the heck is going on. I have more questions than answers. But this is great. Especially that last scene with the girl's body on the floor next to the visor/computer thing. Damn. And I don't know if I missed it, but I don't know what the main character's name is. He's pretty. And I'm as confused as he is.

Also watched the first episode of Weiss Kreuz Gluhen. I'm not quite sure how I feel about the new character designs. Aya's the only one I can recognize on sight, but that's because his hair is reddish! We still haven't seen Yohji, so his blonde hair isn't a help to me. Though... I really think Aya's braid is really sexy. Rowr. Unfortunately, he must braid it really tight because it just sort of hangs there, down his back. You don't hardly see it at all.

I know I must be missing something, since I don't know who these new characters are. But one of them, the Boy, has Seki Toshihiko's seiyuu. I had to blink and stare and go: "My god... is he really Duo? Damn! I thought he would be older!" Of course, age never stopped my two-dimensional lusting, so it won't be so much of a problem. The plot is traditional Weiss though... Evil Boarding Schools trying to Take Over the World! *giggle* At least they're not trying to do it through the water. *snerk*

Oh and I saw the first bit of Witch Hunter Robin, but couldn't really get into it after watching Eikoden. o_O* It gets props for having a really weird OP sequence though.

Now I just need to watch the rest of Gluhen that I have... and Fruits Basket... and FLCL.

Yay for anime! Yay!
