Bwahahahahahaha!!! My turn to do the whole Yaoi-Con report madness. Be warned of random incoherency, babbling, and things that are probably very dull but were of interest to me. Helping me are my beloved (and often cursed) Muses...

Heero: Hn.
Duo: Yo!
Trowa: ...
Quatre: Pleased to be here.
Wufei: You're weak, onna.

Shut up, Wufei. I haven't even started yet. You guys don't get to talk until later. Well... let's see...

--FRIDAY--

Gah! Had to wake up hella early because I was going to pick up Aoi-chan from the Coliseum BART station since she flew into Oakland International. Of course, I stayed up until hellish hours because I had to finish my shirt for Yaoi-Con, and finish the one I gave to Aoi-chan. I think I had about... four hours of sleep. And of course, since it was a Friday morning, we hit the morning rush hour and had to stand most of the way into the city. First we made a stop at Starbuck's, where I introduced Aoi-chan to the wonders of Caramel Macchiattos. Yum!

Quatre: Of course, this meant that the caffeine wouldn't hit you until later in the day, but that didn't stop you.

Quatre! I put *chocolate* in it! Plus I didn't drink so much that I started shaking, so it's okay.

** hotel **

From Montgomery station we took a cab to the hotel. We knew we were close when a random bishounen crossed the street in front of us (note: it was Shiki!!!). Aoi-chan wasn't meeting up with her roomies until 10 AM, and so was I, so we had around an hour to kill. We decided to take up space in the lobby.

** meeting fangirls **

Lo and behold, who comes walking across the lobby but Ponderosa. I recognized her because she was wearing her uber-cool "Dance With the Demons" shirt. I said: "Pond?" and she stopped and joined us for some mutual chatting. I whipped out my trusty Solo (that's the name of my laptop) and decided to play AMVs. Before I knew it, there was a crowd seated around me. ^_^;; Sharon cried during the 1x2x1 video. It was cute.

Duo: *sniffs*
Heero: *wraps his arms around Duo* Baka.

Before this, DevilKitty had come in, and she recognized me because of my "I [heart] to make boys cry" shirt, which I said I'd be wearing. One of Aoi-chan's roomies showed up, too, but the others weren't there yet. I dropped my stuff off in my room (after being boggled by the way the elevators worked). After a brief exchange with Aoi-chan, I decided to go off with DevilKitty and explore San Francisco.

Trowa: You know that you have a horrible sense of direction.

But she had a *map*!

** tourists **

So DevilKitty and I wandered of in a semi-random direction, trying to get to JapanTown. We also talked about a bunch of stuff that I forget about right now, but included: how evil she could make Howard, Cons, real life stress, writing, shoutacon, Colors Club Jr., traveling, pets... all in all it was very good conversation.

After a while we realized that we were lost. >_<;; We consulted DevilKitty's handy dandy map and realized we were supposed to take a right on one of the streets instead of just walking straight. We stopped off at a Walgreen's for liquid refreshment (and I got a disposable camera), and Aoi-chan called me.

She was hungry. ^_^;;

So DevilKitty and I went *back* to the hotel, picked up Aoi-chan, and headed for JapanTown (the right way this time). More walking and talking and we ended up having lunch in this really nice place with *huge* bowls of udon. And DevilKitty had sake. She dropped her chopsticks and we decided that she'd had enough for... noon? We wandered around a bit, stopping at video store and ogling the titles, and then a grocery store where we stocked up on Pocky.

Duo: *whines* You should've bought those mochi ice cream things...

Then I wouldn't have had enough money to buy doujinshi! It's all about the doujin! Doujindoujindoujin!!!

** lines **

Well, Aoi-chan had to work at 2, so we headed back to the hotel. I hung around the lobby, which seemed to be the main gathering point for everyone to wait for the regestration lines to open. I played some more AMVs for everyone, but mostly it was conversation about dubs, subs, DVDs, and prior con experiences. There was also a very cute boy dressed as Vash. #^_^#

Well, after wondering what was going on, we got the tip that regestration was being delayed because:

1) the free things that we supposed to be in the bags weren't there yet

and

2) the religious convention was running late.

I went o_O* "There's a religious convention here, too?" I was much amused. Finally, *finally* we were able to line up for pre-registration, but we created a fire hazard and so were moved into another room. RavynFyre was our line Nazi (meant in the best way possible). I got to talk to her when we moved up in the line. I also met two very nice guys (who were together!) and offered them Pocky. I also met Mikkeneko for the first time (she's so kawaii).

Heero: You think *everyone* is kawaii.

Well, I wasn't lying.

** descent into madness **

By this time I was getting antsy because I *really* wanted to see "Boku no Sexual Harassment" and it was getting late. I managed to get through registration, grab my stuff and then linger at the doorway just in time to see the creepy old guy go down on Mochizuki... to the insane screams and moans of fangirls.

Wufei: As I recall, you were rather vocal yourself.

He didn't take off his glasses! No one wears glasses when they have sex! Plus he was a creepy creepy old guy and that is just NOT my kink! *shudders*

Then it was "Saiyuki OAV #1" and "Yami no Matsuei" and then they kicked us out for opening ceremonies.

** opening ceremonies **

Started late. Everything started late at the con. I don't remember much, but we got to hear a heartfelt rendition of "Yaoi World" and Shiki was introduced.

Duo: ... Shiki... O_O

I agree. The boy was *inhuman*. He's prettier than anyone I've ever seen before. I sorta felt bad for him, everyone kept making him take off his robe to show off the tattoo on his back. Okay, that's a lie... I was chanting to make him take it off, too. But I did feel vaguely guilty about it.

Trowa: *cough*

I did!

ANYWAY... after that I can't remember what I did. >_< I know I had dinner with DevilKitty and Aoi-chan at this cafe-type place.

Oh wait! I went to the "Is it Slash or is it Yaoi?" panel. But I can't remember what was said. Just a lot of stuff about the hard lines drawn between seme/uke in yaoi, but in slash the lines are't as solid. It was chalked down to cultural differences and the relative ages of the fandoms.

** warui **

After that I decided to go to the "Living Vicariously -- are you seme or uke?" panel. Somewhere between the two panels, I met up with the two guys again (I forget their names, >_<) and somehow we had reached the hugging stage when we met each other again. I promised to save them a seat. I also ran into Vash again, and promised to save *him* a seat, too. When the two guys came in -- they're just so cute together! -- I offered them more Pocky, somehow the conversationwent downhill from there, and I told one of them that if he was naughty, I'd have to turn him over my knee. He said "no" unless his partner could watch. Then I propositoned the both of them, but it was all in good fun.

Trowa: ...
Quatre: Only you would consider propositioning two gay guys as "fun."

We were just kidding around!

Duo: Yeah, but one of them agreed to the spanking.

... I hate you all. Damn Muses.

Vash came in a little late and sat next to me. I was a very naughty Sailor Seraphim. I won't go into details, but when he left the panel early I clearly heard the people sitting behind us go: "WHOA!"

My two guys friends agreed that Vash was quite on the cute side. Warui, Sailor Seraphim.

Duo: *opens his mouth*

Don't even say it unless you want to have parts ripped off in a fic.

Duo: *shuts his mouth*

** dizzy off the yaoi **

The panel ended. So I made tracks for the video room which was right next door. "BeBoy Kidnappin' Idol" was sappy and funny. "Blaze of [something]" was very cool, too.

I started seeing things in double, so I decided to go to bed. Mikkeneko was in the room, but DevilKitty wasn't (damn, I was surrounded by cats all weekend), so the two of us talked for a bit before turning in. I think it was mostly mutual squealing over each other's fics. And she brought out her G-Boy figures and set them up on the headboard.

Quatre: At least you didn't do hentai things with them.

Oh no, I only do that with *mine*.

Sleep... sleep is good...

--SATURDAY--

Clothing of the day: my new "Shinigami's Bitch" shirt and G-Boy pants. I was *supposed* to be up in time to watch "Ai no Kusabi," but the video room was having problems. So me and Aoi-chan went to Starbuck's with a few other people to get much-needed coffee into our systems.

** break the bank **

I also snagged the Early Riser pass for our room, so I got to sit in the dealer's hall line and stare at the cosplayers. Once the line did move and we were let in (late, natch) there was this massive *mob* at the Aestheticism table. I decided to wait it out and looked at everything else instead. But, despite my best efforts, I manged to drop $100 on doujinshi in about an hour. Nattsu, Colors Club Jr., Arashi no Prelude Sha, and Degital Papa... yes, crack *is* cheaper than doujinshi. Alos ogled P.L. Nunn's stuff. But the prints I wanted were all gone. *sniff*

Heero: Of course, you had to be the one who wanted prints of me and Duo with our clothes *on*.

Hey! If you're naked, I can't have you hanging on my walls! That was another Freudian statement, wasn't it?

Duo: Just give it up, Writer. With you, Freud *always* applies.

A-hem. I also found out that they shipped my "Shounen Hump" to me, instead of having it ready for me to pick up. *grumblesnarl* It was okay, though, I pawed through Aoi-chan's while *she* went on the hunt for stuffs. After that, we mutually decided that we were hungry, so grabbed breakfast at the cafe place since there wasn't anything we really wanted to see at the time.

** attack of the yaoi **

Gundam Wing Panel.

*shivers* The room was *packed*, and I was a very happy fangirl. This wasn't a panel per se, except for the part at the beginning where we all introduced ourselves and our pairings.

Heero: Heero Yuy, 1x2.
Duo: Duo Maxwell, 2x1. I'm toppin' tonight!

See? That actually happened. They were there. Mostly, it was like this big GW-crazed mob. And the fact that Heero and Duo were there, willing and able to do yaoi poses for us didn't help things. I was the one that shoved Quatre (Mikkeneko) into the group, and then Trowa (Zania) was quickly put into place as well. There was no love for Wufei, though, which was sad. We could've had a complete set!

Wufei: It is a great injustice.

I'm sorry, Wu. If I'd know, I would've brought that blue tank top with me.

** coma **

After I made my way out of the panel (many pictures were snapped), I ended up in the video room again. I have *no* idea what was playing. But "Boku no Sexual Harassment" came on again. It haunts me.

Heero: *coughs*Guilty conscience*cough*

*ignores Heero* Then I decided to shower (yay!) and change clothes for the Bishounen auction and the dance/concert. Mostly, I just showered. Trekked *back* to the video room in time to see the end of "Yu Yu Hakusho". And "Fruits Basket" came on next! I so need to see the series. It's so--

Trowa: ... kawaii?

Don't you start on me, Bang Boy.

** meat **

The Bishounen Auction was quite an experience. I mean, there were around a dozen bishie boys for sale, and the whole *room* full of salivating fangirls (and fanboys). The bidding got vicious right away, and the first bish to break the $100 mark was none other than Vash, all J-Rocked out. Saitoh broke $100, Mistress M broke $200... and of course, Shiki (all dressed up in a tuxedo shirt, a tiny skirt, garters and stockings) went for the most... over $260. Mistress M bought him for his "owner"... they had squishy yaoi moments and Shiki was crowned the Bish of the Con.

Duo: I'm prettier.
Wufei: I can't believe we're even having this discussion.
Duo: Come on, Heero! Tell me! I'm prettier than Shiki, right?!
Heero: *flees*

** dazzle **

After this it was back to the video room, but this time to watch the AMV contest. There were some great videos this year, but I was sorta disappointed that there wasn't more variety. It was mostly "Trigun" and "Gravitation" with some "Yami no Matsuei" for good measure. I voted for the "Saiyuki" video simply because it was the only one. Plus, it was *good*.

** pulse pounds **

Strap on your dancing shoes! The dance was... well, I was a bit dismayed, expecially after what I'd seen at AX this year. It was flippin' *COLD* in the room, and the DJ was spinning techno-ish stuffs and not really changing up the music. I did, however, see Duo and Heero some in. I grabbed then and shoved them onto the middle of the dance floor. I made the fics come true! BWAHAHAHAAHAHAHA!!!

Quatre: Writer, I worry about you sometimes.

Can it, ZERO-boy! I was highly amused! Well after a bit it was really too cold for me to keep moving, especially with the less than great music. So Aoi-chan and I caught "Boku no Sexual Harassment 2"...

Duo: Which proves you're a big perv.

Shut up, Duo.

Duo: I mean, really... corn?! And you *laughed*.

I laughed *after* I cringed in disgust.

Duo: It wasn't disgust that kept your eyes glued to the screen.
Wufei: I'm going to have to agree with Maxwell. You have sadly fallen even farther into the depths of insanity.
Heero: And referring to me pulling a 'Boku no Sexual Harassment' was just *sick*.

It wasn't me, it was the doujinshi!!

Trowa: I could make a reference to dark shades and cooking instruments.

Not you, too! Argh!

Let's move on, ne? Went back to the dance and saw the band. I'm not to into the gothic synthpop, but they were good. Still, I was really running on empty and it was very cold, so me and Aoi-chan called it a night.

** late conversations **

Mikkeneko was in the room getting comfy, too. We decided to share our spoils of war (Gomen! Couldn't resist!), so I pawed through her doujinshi while she pawed through mine. Through the course of this, we started getting vocal and commenting on everything in the doujinshis... from the non-need of ukes for their penii, to chibi sex, to chibi penii, to glowing cones of light, to the "fluids" thing, to shouta, and NCS and: "OH MY GOD! THEY'RE STILL HAVING SEX AND THIS DOUJINSHI IS THICK!!!"

Then we went to sleep as very sated fangirls. Or, at least, I did.

Heero: Pervert.

It's not *my* fault Colors Club Jr. makes *you* the weepy!uke.

Duo: I don't mind it.
Heero: You also got to fuck me for 50 pages. While I cried.
Duo: *leer*

Okay, break it up, you two! Because now it's time for...

--SUNDAY--

Last day of Yaoi-Con. Outfit: My "Quatre 'MuseWhipped'" shirt and the G-Boy pants. I grabbed a granola bar from DevilKitty (who had a much more interesting night then Mikke and I did), and caught the last half of "Saiyuki OVA #2." Then it was some more "Yami no Matsuei."

** evileness **

I knew I was torturing myself, but I went into the Dealer's Hall again. >_< Actually I satin the line waiting for the dealer's line to open with Aoi-chan and one of her roomies (the one that spent $300 on doujin the first day). I promptly stole her coffee and then Pond wandered by, wondering where Zania was. I encouraged her to pull up some carpet and we all made conversation. Pond also gave us sketches. O_O *huggles Pond* She's so cool.

Duo: *ping* Hey, it's me!
Wufei: This fanart does me great justice.

I agree with the Boyz.

** all girls for themselves **

I did my civic duty and managed to shoulder my way through the crowd around the Aestheticism table. I was merciless. I yanked doujin out of boxes like there was no tomorrow and offered them up to those surrounding me. I *think* I found a 5x3 for Pond, but I can't remember. So, yeah, I spent more money. Bad bad bad! But I *did* get more than doujinshi. I also have a "Seme" shirt, and the fanfic book. And one of P. L. Nunn's doujinshi.

** girls just wanna know **

After the mayhem in the Dealer's Room, Aoi-chan and I wandered and we caught the "Girls Wanna Know" panel with Scooter and the Gang. It was pretty informative. I got to ask if it was *really* that comfortable having your knees up against your ears. The answer was "yes," but not for long periods of time.

Wufei: You're justifying this as research, aren't you?

Of course!

** tie me down, hurt me good **

Because the world works out this way, the "Bondage in the Real World" panel was right after the "Girls Wanna Know" one. Aoi-chan had to slip out again to do her volunteering thing, but I made it through the whip demonstration. It was really interesting, but a little slow, because he was just telling us the history of whips. But *damn* did they crack loud. I don' think 'd like to have one actually hit me unless the wielder knew what he was doing. I got through the beginning of the BDSM part when my stomach decided to rebel against me. So, I went out and had breakfast.

** wander **

I did a lot of aimless wandering. Since I had banned myself from the dealer's room, I went to the Art Show and looked at all the pretty art. I got this great print of the G-Boyz as Sailor Senshi. Also bounced around in the video room a lot. The yaoi! The pretty yaoi! Somehow I ended up running into Mikkeneko and we decided to check out the "Let's Make A Deal" raffle, since she had two tickets.

** evile cells from HELL **

I gave in and bought two tickets. The raffle was amusing. This room full of people, hoping to be called to win some fabulous (and not so fabulous) prizes. I swear, the people running it had this stockpile of the *ugliest* cells from an anime I have ever seen. It had an art style like "Ping Pong Club." Eventually, people started chanting that you should just take what you picked the first time and *run*. The cells were *that* bad. Still, our first winner got the Hello Kitty Vibrator, so it set the theme for the afternoon. If you were there, I was the one who yelled: "DAMN!" really loudly when my number wasn't picked.

** "... I choose to be this way, so it isn't sexual harassment." **

Wufei: You're obssessed.

It was one of the staples of the con, Wu-dear. I *had* to watch the last part of "Boku no Sexual Harassment" or it would have driven me insane. Of course, Mikkeneko was with me since we skipped out of the raffle early--

Heero: *Two* fangirls. Making rude comments. And laughing.

You're still pissy about the weepy!uke thing.

Heero: Damn straight.

Not according to my doujin! Going on... it was... well... if #3 was the last part of "BnSH" then I'm very disappointed. That wasn't an ending, dammit! *grumblesnarl* I really need to get my hands on more yaoi to call my very own.

** end of the day **

Well, the raffle ran over (duh), so Mikke and I were able to snag our original seats for Closing Ceremonies. It was... well, Shiki was there, and he had a nice voice. Hopefully, next year will be better organized. I dunno, I was more there for the experience of being around yaoi fangirls than the "con thing." All in all, I count this as an enjoyable weekend.

I was destroyed... but in the good way.

Note to self: Before next year, do some research on djka circles so that I actually know what to look for...

Man, that was fun. ^_^

I only know those djka circles because I already own a lot of their stuff. When I doujin-shop, it's usually more a process of: "Ooh... pretty!"
