ick. now i *know* tnat i can't survive on four hours of sleep every night.

i got sleep in only a little bit today, since we had to meet up at 8:30 AM instead of 8. i had breakfast (milk, granola bar, multi-vitamin) and went to the BART. of course, my life being what it is, the train was late by like, 10 minutes. and when i finally got on, it was *packed* and i couldn't sit down until the next stop. when i did, i immediately set my internal alarm and took a nap. it wasn't a very good one since someone was standing right over my shoulder, and her breifcase kept slamming into my knee. oh well.

got to school. today was "wait in line day." got my ID card (one girl actually broke both of the cameras, it was funny), shuffled over to financial aid. i did all that yesterday, but i needed the little sticker on my ID card. plus, i got my book voucher ($450 baby). hell, i've got helluva loans anyway. i'm paying for all this shit. well, we waited around for everyone to get done (there's 14 in my section) and basically had idle conversation. of course, we were all pissed because our section was doing everything *first*, so the locker assignments weren't up yet, the cashier's office wasn't open (to cash our vouchers), and of course the fiasco with the ID cards. but we went to the bookstore anyway, since they were gonna take our vouchers as is.

there was a lecture at 11 AM... we had to stay on schedule. okay, so bookstore. major pain. i bought all my books new, except for one that they ran out of new copies for. 10 books = $511. damn. so i busted out with my check card and paid off the difference. lugged all that heavy shit back a block to the school. thankfully, our locker assignments were up. mine's on 3rd floor (yay!). poor Bouncer Guy (guy in section... he's a bouncer in three bars) has his locker up on 6th.

11 AM. lecture on effective study habits and what to expect from law school. briefing, outlining, note-taking, attending lectures, blah blah blah.

12 PM. lunch. we all went out as a group. there's this really good bakery/sandwich place not too far away. i had chicken barley soup and a caesar salad. yum. we ate on the grassy area next to the school and i was talking with two guys about comic books. ^^;; you knew i'd find the freaks int he section, ne?

1 PM. library tour. blah blah blah books, study carrels, blah.

1:30 PM. lecture. this time on time-management. there is apparently a 4:1 ratio of study time versus class time. this means that for every credit i'm taking, i have to study four hours.

i'm taking 15 credit hours.

15 x 4 = 60 hours of study + 15 hours in class = 75 hours of work WEEKLY.

also, there is NO ONE that i know of in my section that is going to work during first year. actually, very few 1Ls are going to work this year. besides the fact that the ABA doesn't *allow* 1Ls to work... eh. i can see why.

75 flippin' HOURS of studying. and this doesn't include taking mock exams, attending special tutorials, and study group meetings.

okay, enough of that.

after this lecture, i took half my books home with me and got on the BART again. yup, you guessed it. i took another nap. then i got home, and napped again before i had dinner.

time for me to prepare for tomorrow!
