windandwaterso, read it over and tell me if it sucks, or if the idea is intruiging. and no, this isn't the beginning of the fic... it's just a bit that allows me to show you just how uncreative i am in chosing titles for my fics.
oh, and the pairings rating for the fic will eventually be 1x2, 4x3, with some random 5+2, 4x2, R+1, etc thrown in for fun.
*and* since this is a total AU, our lovable boyz are given totally different roles. here's the tentative cast list for now:
Heero Yuy -- War Lord, new King of Raba Winds, Duo's new master, also known as the Ice Prince
Duo Maxwell -- a magical being, Keeper of Shinigami's Gift and Judge of those worthy for it
Trowa Barton -- Royal Mage to Heero
Quatre Raberba Winner -- deceased King of Raba Winds, former Master of Duo, once in posession of Shinigami's Gift. also known as the "Mad King Raberba."
Chang Wufei -- Royal Advisor to Heero and Master Swordsman
Relena Peacecraft -- Queen of Cinquante
[Heero] had questioned Wufei about the mysterious power, and had been surprised that the Chinese man knew of it, but by a different name. Wufei had pulled out several dusty texts that documented the existance of the power. Still, the descriptions were vague. Some books said that the power would keep a land happy and peaceful. Others said it would bring war and despair. Men would give up their lives to posess it, only to go mad after losing it. The power was beautiful, terrible, a blessing and a curse, all at once. It was called by many different names, but one was always repeated.
It was Shinigami's Gift.
Even the name intrigued Heero, for what gift could Death ever give a man? Immortality, perhaps? Was Shinigami's Gift a weapon -- one so powerful that it could make a whole country fear it? Heero had to know... had to find it... had to posess Shinigami's Gift.
