I've still plucking along with FFIV, and I'm doing pretty good!

Like I said, I've been following a guide, which is pretty much the only reason why I'm not dying constantly. I can handle the random encounters pretty well now (especially with a full party, or at least, leveled up members), and so I've been playing with some of their skills, to see what they do. I sorta hate Edward though. He has the crappiest defense ever, but his Life's Anthem skill sort of makes up for it.

I'm now at the part where Cecil meets Palom and Parom. I'm staying near the city though, and fighting to level the twins up first. Plus, I need more gil to buy stuff and stock-up. Man, I miss Yang and his fighting style (and HP). Cecil's pretty much my only fighting/melee character at the moment, since the twins are both mages.

But I can't wait until I move on to the next part! Even if losing party members makes things all annoying. XP

Now to see what I can rustle up for lunch. And apparently some guy is coming over at 3pm, to give us estimates on flooring. Mom wants to replace the carpet downstairs with wood (or maybe tile), and we all need to be here to see the options. Hopefully it won't cost an arm and a leg.

Oh, and click my dragon egg. ♥ I finally got one of the new skywings and I don't want it to die.

Adopt one today!

Keep fighting the Zuls - Cecil's sword will cast Death on them. Fire the Beaks at the same time so they don't Petrify you. You might even want to go to Mt. Ordeals and get Tellah and then just level up around Mt. Ordeals itself - using the White Chocobo to keep your MP up and your members healed. Try to get Palom and Porom to L. 25 to have a good chance.

I've been fighting Zuls to get gil so I can buy more items. I JUST got the twins, so I haven't done Cecil's trial-whatever to get him to be a Paladin yet.

And yeah, the Petrify is annoying. x__X It seems like they always hit me RIGHT after a pick everyone's actions, so I can't go back and heal.

As you level up your speed will become better than the Zuls and Beaks. You'll strike first more of the time. Make sure before you hit Mt. Ordeals you buy a full set of the new equip for Cecil from the Mysidia armor shop - you'll need it. Also, Scarmiglione will retort any attack magic sent his way, so spam him with Cura from Tellah and Porom. Twin is pretty useless.

I'm a BAMF with FFIV ;) It's really, really hard...but I just beat Valvalis\Barbariccia and am headed underground.

I can't stress the importance of grinding to level up enough in this version of FFIV, though. This is the hardest fucking RPG i've played in a long time.

This is the walkthrough I'm using. It's pretty thorough and it gives tips on what level to be and stuff, so I'm doing okay. Haven't died yet!

And yeah. XD I'm doing lots of grinding, but the Auto Battle function is handy for that.
