Everyone has things they blog about. Everyone has things they don't blog about. Challenge me out of my comfort zone by telling me something I don't blog about, but you'd like to hear about, and I'll write a post about it. Ask for anything: latest movie watched, last book read, political leanings, thoughts on yaoi, favorite type of underwear, graphic techniques, etc. Repost in your own journal so that we can all learn more about each other.

putting aside manga and law text, what is the last book you read? tell me a bit about it, and what you liked/didn't like.

Sera on Shoes!

I'm mostly a sneaker person. Everyone should know by now (since I actually have posted about it) that my favorite brand is Van's. I always buy myself a pair of the classic black Van's, with the white sole and laces. I love them. But I always buy from the men's shoes, not women's. It's because the men's Van's have thicker soles and are heavier; they feel much more sturdier and I like that better.

However, I am also fond of wearing girly heels when the situation calls for it. I have a pair of 3-inch stilletos that I ADORE, and I've near-crippled myself to wear them. But they really make me feel pretty. And they make me way taller so yay! T___T I really suffer for beauty.

Uhm. Well, crap. I have to actually go paw over the pile of books and things on my desk hold on.

Okay, the last book-book that I've read (and actually still need to finish) is Stephen Colbert's I Am America (And So Can You!). I happen to like witty political humor, and I love Colbert, so I had to buy the book when it came out. There's something about satire that I really enjoy, though my taste in literature tends to be like that (two of my favorite books are Slaughterhouse 5 and Fahrenheit 451). After this... uhm. I think I paged through 1001 Places to Go Before You Die, which Aoi-chan gave me as a present. I haven't finished it, since it's huge, but I did find places I'd already been. :3

You pretty much blog about everything and anything, don't you? I mean, there's nothing you're not comfortable with...

What's your favorite girly drink? :D

Well, I tend to stay away from current politics, since the last time I posted something political, I got flamed by a troll. >_>;;

And do you mean girly drink as in an alcoholic cocktail? Or just girly-fruity drink?

alcoholic cocktails!
(but fruity drinks go, too. both!)

Yeah, politics is one of those topics that divides the masses. Like humor and the varying opinions on meat as food.
I just realized I should stay away from my brand of humor. Just got a comment from someone in merith's LJ who didn't quite get the fact that my answer wasn't quite serious. XD It's always embarrassing when that happens. *shushes and hides*

Mmmm, I wish I had a Gin&Tonic right now. Mmmm~

I really love apple martinis, especially if they're in an actually martini glass and not just a plastic cup or something. They make me feel all sophisticated~ That and chocolate martinis can blitz me in one go, even if they're tasty.

As for plain fruity drinks, I like the Pina Coolada from Juice-It-Up. It's like a pina colada, but with no alcohol and more coconut and banana and yogurt (since it's a smoothie). There's also this strawberry one I like, but I forget the name.

AND MEAT IS TOTALLY A FOOD. I WOULD DIE WITHOUT MEAT.

Appletinis are genius drinks. Mmmm~ so good.

Never had a chocolate one, though. Will have to try the next time I get the opportunity. :D

The chocolate one I had was REALLY strong, but I guess it depends on how the bartender makes it. And the chocolate flavor was... hmmm... hard to describe. You could really taste the alcohol.

... you should try a Buttery Nipple!

Sera on TV!

Well, I sorta don't like the turn the US has currently with competition-type shows and reality TV. I understood that the writers' strike made things bad, but the trend has been around for a number of years now. I mostly hate it because when I went to the Philippines nearly 10 years ago these were the kind of shows on TV there. It was very much a 'balm of the masses'; lots of flash but no real substance, and Filipino TV isn't very interesting at any rate.

But seeing this on US TV, when I've been used to seeing witty sitcoms and intense dramas (that the Philippines dubbed to show between the inane crap) really makes me sad. It's like we've gone backwards.

... but I'm still going to watch Top Chef on Wednesday.

Is it sad to say LJ? Usually if something major happens, LJ is all a-buzz about it. Also, I have the BBC newsfeed on my flist. ^^ I prefer the BBC for major world events because they are... shall we say, less-biased towards news than the sources here. I also happen to like CNN.com (I get e-mails from them for major events as well).

For local news, I occassionally read the local paper.

Does it make you feel better if I tell you Filipino TV is worse?
