Project Runway Season 4, Episodes 10 and 11

A double-post! Because I forgot to watch Project Runway last week. :P



First, Episode 10 a.k.a. The Stripper-Wear Challenge.

I... actually have very little to say about this episode. XD;; It was a whole bunch of glitter and rhinestones and spandex, and it's kind of hard to make wrestlers glamorous. Though, I have to agree that if they were dressing male wrestlers, things would have perked up. I certainly would've been more excited and paid more attention.

Ricky got auf'ed. ;__; I wasn't surprised, so he really DID make an orange bathing suit, as opposed to the wrestling wear. It was kind of surprising though, since -- as a lingerie designer -- he should've taken this challenge easily. I think he just got too caught up in the idea of "don't make it trashy", which... was almost a necessity. I'm sad to see him go, but he didn't cry! So yay!

But I'm so glad Chris won! His outfit was very interesting and fit his model's personality perfectly. And I liked the hoodie part of the coat. Also, I'm very glad that Christian didn't win. Yes, it's petty. Christian's outfit WAS really interesting -- definitely an S&M vibe there -- but I think it was just a hair too much. Chris' outfit, like the judges said, looked expensive. Even if it was green leopard print. ♥

As for the others, Jillian's outfit was cute. She certainly got that 'tomboy-sporty' vibe and made it work. Sweet P was SO LUCKY this week. I amend my previous statements, she's the Wendy Pepper of this season, only staying in when someone else FUCKS UP TOTALLY. I think Sweet P is very nice and when she's on she's on, but unfortunately, I think she's been missing the mark too many times. And Rami... *throttles him* He draped! Again! Spandex. Plus, the color of that outfit was HORRIBLE. Ugh ugh ugh. *shudders*

Okay, and now what you've been waiting for: Episode 11 a.k.a. The ELIMINATION

Okay, now that I've gotten that out of my system, I can go on.

RAMI YOU STUPID BASTARD. IT WAS A TRAP. THE WHOLE THING WAS A TRAP. AND YOU FELL RIGHT INTO IT. YOU SAW IT COMING BUT DIDN'T DODGE. THEY KNEW THE GREEK ART WOULD BREAK YOUR WILL AND IT DID AND YOU DRAPED AND YOU ARE SO FUCKING ARROGANT. NINA GARCIA SHOULD'VE KICKED YOUR ASS FOR THAT DRESS.

Well. I guess I didn't get it all out of my system. ^^;; But, really? Who didn't see Rami draping a dress after they threw him into that Ancient Greek statues room? Aphrodite is my muse, my ass. He fucking KNOWS the judges have a problem with him draping EVERY FUCKING THING HE CAN GET HIS HANDS ON. I'm glad the judges took him to task for that fuck up, though I was sorta pissed that Nina actually apologized for having to say bad things to him. He's sorta the judges' golden boy, but this time, it worked against him. Rami REALLY needs to get out of his draping box, or he really isn't gonna show at Fashion Week.

BUT MY SISSY BEAR IS IN! SORTA!

I was really upset that Chris decided to nap in the middle of everything. That was a bad move. Plus, the whole over-the-top shoulderpiece made me cringe, since it was SO MUCH like the avant garde dress. But, I loved his expression when Heidi told him he was in. And the shocked disappointment on Rami's face bwahahahah. Still, if Chris does do a whole collection of couture, he really WILL put on a fabulous show. He'll do it even if everything is pret-a-porter, too. I just hope that he wins out against Rami's 3 pieces (which he will if Rami drapes). I wanna see Sissy Bear at Fashion Week!

Christian and Jillian... well, I had a hunch they'd be showing at Fashion Week anyway (especially Christian). I still don't like Christian's love of black and puffy sleeves, and god, Jillian. Can't see do more than a jacket? Yes, she does it well, but she loves to throw around that "futuristic" word too much. "Futuristic" doesn't always mean high collared jackets. DX But she does have a definitely style and is willing to take risks.

Before I forget about it, I like the fact that this isn't a sure-thing "4 designers show" like what happened last season. In Season 3, Uli, Michael, Laura and Jeffrey were all very strong designers who all did very different styles. The judges wanted to see all those mindsets go up against each other. And all of them were very strong throughout the whole season.

Here, Chris and Rami can both be taken as "one-notes" (especially Rami), and Chris was even eliminated once. This decision by the judges to have them both make their collections then battle each other is the best way to go about things. Unfortunately, I think if Chris hadn't mimicked the avant garde dress he made before, or Rami hadn't draped his dress, one of them probably would've gone to Fashion Week directly.

I love Sissy Bear, too. I'm really hoping he has a strong collection to show off, and doesn't get all costume-y. If he goes for costumes, he'll be out.

Yes. But I haven't been spoiled for what's happened and who is in the final 3 yet. ^^ Plus, all 5 of them showed to throw off who the final 3 actually are. They do that every season.

I've seen the collections, but I don't know for certain who the final three are. I was just happy that all five designers got to be part of it, and not just the final three. I consider all five winners.

I haven't seen anything at all. XD I even avoided those posts on Project Rungay even though I was really curious. I just wanna see the drama since Victorya showed her own collection too (I thought it was 'blah'). The reunion show might be very interesting.

chris is IN baby! i was jumping in my seat and clapping like a crazy woman when that happened, at least until they told rami that he was in too. ;) though, i think THAT is for the best. it will force them to create more than what they're comfortable with, and hopefully chris will show that he's more than flash. (and rami that he's all about the drape).

i know what you're saying about sweet p being the 'wendy pepper'...i just hated seeing her go because she was so nice. she got a little too wound up over every challenge so fashion week would have push her over a cliff. i don't think THAT sort of high fashion would have suited her at all.

since i broke down and asked sharon to spoil who the two were she knew were going to fashion week, i knew about christian and julian (though i've been saying for months that julian was going). emo bitch-boy produces some good stuff, but he's just so catty and nasty to people, i sometimes just want to wring his neck. don't care for him, but think he just might win the whole kit-caboodle. *shrug* we'll see what he coughs up. and if he gets a haircut.

I think they could have put Rami in a 10,000 BC room and he still would have draped his outfit. I'm sorry that he is even in - although I would like Chris to beat his ass. Like you said, it's not like he hasn't been told time and time again. I wonder if Chris should get someone he trusts to critique plans for his collection before he makes it to give him some focus. I'm glad they are giving him a chance, but I don't think he can win.

Sweet Pea, what were you thinking? Definitely that dress would not be fit for a show.

Christian and Jillian - both embodied the life of the paintings in their outfits. They are the best choices. My bet is on Christian. He may be a brat, but he's so damn talented. Can't you see the comments when he gets to be famous - he'll be the worst prima donna on the block. I think if he goes straight to the top, he'll never learn.

I LOVED seeing Chris get in! He looked SO shocked (because really, he was up against Rami) and then it looked like he would cry. But still, I wanna see how FABULOUS they both get, since now they really have to win or they won't show.

And yes, losing Sweet P was bad (and I meant Wendy Pepper in the 'good' way, since I personally loathe the woman), but for the best. I think she knew she didn't have a chance, but she made it pretty far anyway.

I always expected Christian to make it, since he does good work, even if it's not my personal style. Plus, he's all about the drama. The judges did take 'showmanship' into consideration. They don't want a boring show.

I KNOW. But really, it was SUCH A TRAP. I don't see how Rami couldn't figure that out. He's so arrogant that I wanted to punch him in the face. As for Chris, he seems to do a fabulous job as long as he doesn't go costume-y. Hopefully he'll listen when Tim Gunn goes to visit him.

I agree about Christian and Jillian, though I kind of hated Jillian's outfit. Gold lame is kinda tacky to me, though I did like what she did with the jacket and the lining. Christian... well, we all know how I feel about Emo Boy. XP
