In the middle of the night, when Castle Oblivion was quiet and still, it would creep out from the corner of the lab. It took care to move silently and not disturb any of the ongoing experiments, its eyes seeing perfectly in the near pitch dark. The route was familiar: out this door, around that corner, through this archway. It did not mind the dark, but did not like being cold and alone.

And then it moved even more carefully, blankets rustling as it crawled up the bed to lay itself down close against its makers side. Blond hair draped over closed green eyes, Vexen only muttered something vague about useless sentimentalism, but lifted his arm for it to press closer.

For a being who controlled ice, it felt very warm in his arms.
