"Oh," Duo said, sounding relieved. Then he got a calculating look in his eyes. "Oh, really?" he repeated, in a more speculative tone.
"Really," Heero answered, then took the empty bottle out of his hands and set it on the nightstand. "Whatever you're plotting, Duo, do it later." He leaned over Duo, pressing him down against the towels. "Sleep now."
"Mmmm." Duo let himself be guided, closing his eyes almost the moment his head hit the pillow.
He'd been halfway to sleep all morning, and it hardly took any time at all before his breathing evened and deepened. Heero stayed there for a long time, ignoring the tiredness that pulled at his own body, just watching his lover sleep. Sometimes he reached out and touched Duo, his forehead, his cheek, his hand. But most of the time he just looked, his eyes dark with some thoughts, before finally he rose from the bed and left the room. There were still some things he had to do.
