He woke up the next day in the absolute certainty that he had fallen into enemy hands once again. Obviously, they were experimenting with some new variety of interrogation drug, because there was nothing in his whole experience of drug symptoms that could produce such an agonizing headache, such crippling nausea.

Heero tried to regulate his breathing, heartbeat, and brainwaves. His captors could not know that he was awake. He tried to feign unconsciousness, and he failed, utterly. The blood pounded in his head with such intensity that he thought his eyeballs would explode at any minute; regulating it was out of the question. This was bad. Functionality minimal, chances of escape on his own were low. He could really use Duo blasting in through the walls with an escape right now...

Duo?

Oh.

Opening his eyes was harder than self-destructing had been, anyway. He'd never noticed before but the colony lights were obscenely bright. With tremendous effort, Heero rolled over onto his side, and had to close his eyes lest the double assault of nausea and brightness turn his digestive tract inside out. Memory was beginning to return, very slowly. There had been a party last night, a reunion with the other pilots. He remembered that much. He also remembered getting very, very...

Drunk.

Which meant he was currently hungover.

Great.
