Re: Junk 2

"Sugoi!" Duo's face split into a grin. "A wild party, that's just what I need! And it'll be great to see the guys again... uh..." he trailed off, then added, "Assuming you want to, of course."

Party. Heero considered the word. It was really much more of a Duo thing than Heero was comfortable with, but he hadn't seen the other pilots in some time. "I'd certainly like to see the others again," he remarked. "It's not that far away."

"Great!" Duo bounced to his feet, pushing the plate of waffles away from him. Heero looked at it and shook his head sadly, already knowing how the syrup would crystallize if the baka didn't rinse off the dish. But Duo was oblivious. "Where are we going?"

"Duo," Heero sighed. "It's not until Thursday."

Duo didn't let that slow him down. "I know that," he answered, dignified. "I only wanted to know where the hotel was, so I can look up how to get there..."

"There's no way I'm letting you drive," Heero said firmly. "I want to get there in one piece."

Duo hesitated, for a moment, back to Heero and hand resting on the doorframe. But when he turned back to Heero the grin was firmly on his face. "You can drive if you like, Hee-chan," he said. "Just make sure not to hit the self-destruct button while I'm in the car."

He smirked and skipped happily into the bedroom.

"Heero!" Quatre enthused, his face lighting with delight upon seeing Wing's pilot. He seemed about to fling himself on Heero for a joyful hug, but Trowa prudently took hold of Quatre's shoulder, so the smaller blond had to settle for a brilliant smile. "I honestly didn't expect you to come. I'm so glad you did!"

"Aah, I had to drag him by his hair kicking and screaming the whole way," Duo smirked, draping an arm over Heero's shoulders. Heero glared at him, not comfortable with such close contact in front of the other pilots, but Duo just turned the smirk into a grin. "Well, maybe not screaming. Heero don't scream. Kicking and scowling, anyway."

"Baka," Heero muttered under his breath, struggling to suppress his own smile.

Quatre gave them both a sharp look, as though uncertain of what the exchange signified, but all he said was, "As long as he's here, he can scowl all he likes."
