that a little more. Heero glanced up to where a set of handcuffs joined Duo's wrist to the bedpost. He could see the tendons standing out on Duo's arm, and his hand was tightly clenched around the chain. Duo followed his glance, as though realizing his own tension for the first time, and made a conscious effort to relax. "A little... maybe a little nervous, but..." "That's to be expected," Heero assured him quietly, letting his hands rest on the blanket. "It's all right; I'm here." Duo shut his eyes and swallowed hard. There was no reason to be nervous around Heero, for God's sake; the man had seen him naked before. Maybe it was the tremors that he couldn't stop from running up and down his arms that he was afraid Heero would see, afraid to show him weakness, afraid to be unworthy of the one man whose respect he craved, afraid that Heero would scorn him, *afraid...* "Just relax," he heard Heero say. So, he'd noticed the shivering. What else could he expect from the ever-observant soldier? But the shaking wouldn't stop; in fact, it was getting worse. He swallowed again, tasting a bright coppery trace on the back of his tongue, and forced his eyes open to see Heero leaning over him, looking distinctly worried this time. "I'm here. You're safe. Nothing here will hurt you." Damn it, he shouldn't need Heero hovering over him like a nursemaid. He opened his mouth to tell Heero that he was fine, that Heero should concentrate on keeping watch, but he couldn't quite form the words. If someone were to discover their bolt-hole, if Oz soldiers were to burst in suddenly, they could catch Heero totally by surprise. They could overwhelm even Heero's soldier reflexes, and Duo would be helpless -- At that thought, he automatically brought one hand down to touch Heero, just to reassure himself that the other boy was still alive and safe, but his arm jerked up against the short chain and no matter how frantically he tugged, he couldn't get loose. And suddenly he was back in that tiny room and his arms were trapped and surrounded and pinned down and someone was ripping at his shirt to expose new unburnt skin and --
Heero bit back a curse word as Duo started thrashing wildly in his bindings. He didn't have the leverage to hit Heero, but the cold metal of the cuffs bit into his naked skin and it was obvious he was lost in a flashback. Heero lunged over the bed,
