Unfortunately for everyone, my crappy old GW fic involves less 1x2 pr0n and more hack poetry.

Descent (revised version)

Warning: Swear words, sex, death, angst, blank verse.
Pairing: 5xS
Disclaimer: All characters herein belong to others.
Notes: Several months ago, I read a fantastically well-written iamb-fic for the West Wing, by an author named Violet. Just for the hell of it, I thought I'd try to imitate her by rewriting my latest snogfic in iambic pentameter. Ita est.

Above the Earth, they tumbled on for miles,
Drifting towards a shattered colony.
At least the way was clear, the woman thought,
No thanks for mercies small and useless now.

She went to where he floated by the glass.
He turned to her and said, "I had a dream."

"You want to die asleep?" she asked him.

"No."
He said "I don't. But still, I had a dream.
"I walked along a road covered in snow.
"I'd never seen the like on colony....
"The world was muffled, silent, soft and white,
"But then I heard these children playing there.
"They laughed and slid and threw around the snow."

"What do you think it means?" she said, intrigued.

He shook his head. "I don't know--no, I know.
"Someone--something is pleased by all of this."

Sally felt a shiver along her bones.
"You don't think it was him," she said, "Because--
"I don't think I could die with him alive."

"It wasn't Zechs, I'm sure," he said, voice firm.
"It wasn't even human, or awake."

"It's not important, then."

"You're right. It's not."

She kissed him hard, and stroked his feverish skin.
They'd lost their clothes sometime hours ago;
The life-support was still providing heat,
Though air was in a desperate short supply.
Awhile back, they'd stripped and fucked 'til spent.
At first, he balked, protesting they should save
Their oxygen until they could be found.

She seized his arms and shook him, shouting out
"There is no rescue! All our friends have died!
"The Earth, the colonies, the mobile suits—
"The ones down there, the ones out there, they're dead!
"The human race is gone, and we're the last--
"We're going to die; it doesn't matter when."

He wasn't near her best lover at all,
But young and passionate will take you far.
When the frantic need was somewhat quelled
She found his kisses were enough for then.

He gently touched her cheek. "Sally, I love--"

"Shut up. You don't. You only know my name.
"Don't think that you can love what you don't know."

A frown crept to his mouth, and he said, "Fine.
"But you were like that too, admiring us...
"The way you looked and spoke—the things you did—
"You didn't know us."

"No. I never will."
She pushed away. "I thought it was enough,
"The things I saw in Gundam and you boys
"To keep our world intact—but I was wrong.
"You failed, and so did I. That's all there is."

"I'm sorry," Wufei whispered, dark and sad.
"I only wanted to avenge my wife.
"I didn't even kill Khushrenada..."

"He's dead now." And he was, and so was Zechs,
That stupid traitor Noin, and all the Earth,
Peacemillion, Libra, all the colonies
Killed in futile mockery of defense.
She'd seen the lights of death, and final blows,
A witness to destruction and the end.
It was no joy to count the score and know
Her enemies were dead beside her friends.

The shuttle turned, and Sally felt a chill
With only steel between her and the cold,
And Earth, still blue and white, hanging in view.
She took Wufei's warm hands into her own
And held him with the force of all her pain.
"All I wanted was my people free, and
"Not to live under the reign of tyrants,"
She snarled, between kisses, "Now they don't
"Live under tyranny, or live. Fuck me."

Said Wufei, with a sudden hitch of breath,
"If I'm to die, I'm glad to be with you."

She felt his strong hand tangle in her hair.
"Well, I can live with that," and then she laughed.
