Yo LJ!

Please to be giving me my comment reply e-mail notification thingies. And notices when someone comments in my LJ. Because I'm lost and confused and I can't tell when someone replies to me. This is severe cramp on my LJ lifestyle. Oh, and don't give me ninty bajillion e-mails all at one time, either. That's not helpful.

I think it's sorta working, too. I'm getting comment emails, but not ALL the time. It seems to come and go.

Oh, cos of the location change... eh, well what I read was that since they changed servers with the move, the new IP address is once more being rejected by AOL. So it's still just an AOL issue.

Plus the girl who runs the Beatles directory I'm on sends out a monthly newsletter, and she often has troubles with AOL addresses. Or rather, AOL members have trouble receiving the newsletter. *shrug*

Yeah, it's an AOL and LJ issue, really. Friends without AOL aren't getting emails, too.

And AOL has pretty tight spam controls usually. That's why mass emails tend to get blocked.

... I have a bulk email folder. o_O* Or, well, it's called the "Spam Folder." And you can mark off what's spam and what's not, etc. It's actually rather good.

I don't think it blocks domains, really. It's just like, take LJ for example: when AOL "sees" a bajillion emails hitting AOLers from one domain, that sends up the red flag that this is a spammer, and they usually are. Also, sometimes people are stupid and mark off LJ emails as "spam" (I did this on accident a couple times, then made it Not Spam when I realized what I did). So, AOL thinks: Hey, this is a spam domain, we shall be good and block!

Usually they ARE blocking legitimate spammers. I barely get any spam anymore.

I tried a few weeks ago to reply to an email someone with an AOL addy had sent me. It was a Beatle email, so I was telling her about the directory and the lj community, since I'd just set it up. And AOL bounced it back because of the URLs in the email; one Angelfire and the other Livejournal. -_-
