Well, they sorta already did. In the first episode, Jaden Juudai (can't stand dub names) literally bumps into an older!Yugi, who gives him the Winged Kuriboh card. But we never get to see Yugi's face (but he actually DID get taller). Then Juudai is in a tag team duel with Sho against the Paradox Brothers (who Yugi and Jou defeat in Duelist Kingdom). And then there's this episode with Yugi's Deck. And a future episode with a Kaiba flashback, since he's the one who built the Duel Academy.
