I feel better now
May. 31st, 2005 11:46 pmA nice long nap and a hearty dinner make Sera a happy person.
I was trying to go to bed early last night and semi-succeeded. Hey, 5 hours of sleep is MUCH better than 4. I can function on 5 hours of sleep. However, I was RUDELY awoken sometime around 3am by some LOUD ASS TRUCK. I swear to God it sounded like it was right outside my window. It revved its engine and was loud and there was HONKING. Then it went away and I was too frazzled to sleep right away. I got the piss scared out of me. Anyway, I did manage to sleep again. Yay.
Morning was sorta okay. I woke up (after sleeping in for 30 minutes past the alarm), but managed to walk out the door a little after 8am. That's good. Wrong. I saw the bus turning to the stop while I was still far away and on the OTHER side of the street. There was no way I could've run for it and made it with traffric what it is in the mornings. So I consoled myself with hopes that the next bus would come soon. It did, but it was the 9X, which stops at Third and NOT 11th. However, I figured that and Express is faster than the regular 9, and it would be easy to take another bus up Market to 11th, then transfer at 11th/Van Ness to get to O'Farrel.
I was sorta right. It IS possible to do so. But it didn't save me any time when compared to taking the regular 9, which by the way, SHOWED UP RIGHT WHEN I SAT ON THE 9X and the bus pulled away from the curb. >_<;;
Anyway, I was a few minutes (okay, almost 10 minutes) late to class. But my friend saved me a seat, so that wasn't so bad. I'm getting used to that uphill walk. But I REALLY need to start waking up earlier so I can catch the bus! I hate missing it and getting to class late!
Class was particularly boring, too. Constitutional Law generally is. I was struggling to stay awake, especially since the concessions people weren't there to sell me bad coffee for $1.25. But, class DID get out a half hour early, so that made me happy, even if it was blowing really cold wind while I walked back to Van Ness to catch the bus.
And since it was early, I stopped at the Burger King on the way to have myself a nice lunch. I was happy. And well-fed. And then the bus.
>_<;; Oh god. This is what pissed me off. First, I had to wait about 15 minutes before a 47 came by so I could hop on it down to Market. It was late; I know this because the BK is on Van Ness and I was looking out the window trying to time the buses passing by. I hadn't seen one the entire time I was in BK and eating lunch.
FINALLY, I get to Market, walk to 11th, and proceed to wait for the 9 to come so I can get home. I looked down the street and I could see the back of a bus in the distance, so I had missed the 9 by maybe 5 minutes. Right, so about 10 minutes of waiting while the cold wind blew. Right?
WRONG.
I was fucking waiting at the stop for over 45 minutes before a fucking 9 bus came (I counted 3 of them going the OTHER way, to the Wharves). Yeah, and that bus? PACKED LIKE A SARDINE CAN. I couldn't even get on, so I had to WAIT AGAIN. It was over an HOUR before I finally got on a 9 bus (I got to the stop a little after 1pm, and didn't get on the bus until after 2pm). My back and shoulders were KILLING ME from having to hold my bag with books in it. And THIS bus was packed, too. But I would've started screaming if I didn't get on, so I shoved my way up the back stairwell and managed to wiggle in, surrounded by people.
I had to stand the entire ride packed with people, because the goddamn bus driver didn't know to DRIVE PAST the stops. He kept STOPPING and people KEPT TRYING TO GET IN. *screams* And because of the umerous stops, the ride took longer than the normal. Usually it takes about 20-25 minutes to get from 11th to my stop. Today it took almost 40 minutes. I finally got to sit down for five minutes near the end of my ride.
Walked home. Bitched. Napped.
If this keeps up, I'm fucking going to start driving to class. I don't want to WAIT AN HOUR for a bus. Not on 11th Street, which is surrounded by crazy.
As for the ass on fire thing, I managed to pull something in my lower back or maybe my right ovary is being particularly bitchy before things REALLY get interesting. Maybe being around all the other girls going to BarBri is throwing off my cycle. Bitches. Either way, I've got a sharp pain right toward my lower back/hip that flares up if I bend over too far or slouch. Of course, sitting NORMALLY also makes me feel twinges of pain.
I slapped a heating pad over the area, hoping that would help. It has, a bit. But now the pad is wearing off because its been over 12 hours. However, I was sitting in front of the heater earlier, and so the stuff in the heating pad got hot again. XD!!
That's why it felt like my ass was toasty warm.
