Yup. Right on time. >_O

*stabs ovaries viciously*

Well, this kills my ideas of going to Phuket this weekend. I guess I'll stay in Bangkok and work on my papers for classes. >_>;; And shop. And I found out that the hotel has an internet service that's like... 20 hours for 200 baht or something. So, I'm going to go and ask about it and buy the disk. XD If I'm going to be stuck in my room in bed, I'll damn well have internet access!

And now onto Sera's Wacky Thailand Adventure... Part... who knows?

TUESDAY:

Well, I decided to go to the Lumpini/Suan Lum Night Bazzar afterall, along with 3 other people so we could share the taxi fare. OMG I'm so glad I went! I need to go again! It's like the Weekend Market but much better organized, not as crowded, and not as hot. XD XD XD There's also better food and this big stage area where there were muscial bands! And a place where you could pet a baby elephant (WITHOUT a mahout with a pick ready to whack the poor thing). And a beer garden.

Plus plus plus!

We were only there about an hour (even though it didn't close until midnight) because the others were going to go to some birthday party at the Restroom, which is the bar/hangout of the drinking crowd. In that hour... yes, I was weak and burned another $100/4000 baht.

BUT!

I made some pretty awesome deals and did some good haggling. :3 I bought 5 more AWESOME embroidered skirts (most of which will be presents). Some even have shiny dangly beaded things, which of course caught my attention in the first place. ^^ I mostly wandered about, amazed that this place wasn't just packed to the gills. I also bargained and bought 3 mangowood vases/bowls which are quite lovely. I hope my mom likes them.

Okay okay, I know what you all are waiting for... the best 2000 baht I ever spent. Well, as I was walking down the aisles, I saw this cute little set of small bowls/cups/sake cups things. There was 11 of them, with the Chinese zodiac painted in the inside. It's missing one. T_T I asked the price (she went down to 300 baht), but I declined because I was still looking around and didn't know if I wanted to spend so much on an incomplete set.

Well, on the way back to meet the others to go back to the hotel, I went by that stall again. I really didn't want to give up the cute set, so I was going to bargain for it. I took a closer look at the stall, and saw this weird... closed bowl thing. It looked like a teapot, but with no spout. But it looked really well-made and old and I liked it, even if I had no idea what to DO with it. So, I asked the girl how much it was... she said 4000 baht (!!!), but there was a closing sale so things were 40% off.

Then I asked what the thing WAS.

It was a 60-year old...

... opium pipe.

XD XD XD

She put the little metal pieces together on the pot, to show the vent and the pipe to smoke through and everything. X3 This was just awesome and appeals to my sense of fancy, so I haggled hard, and threw in the cup set, and I got the lot for 2000 baht... over a 50% discount!

Hahahaha... so now I'm coming back home with an old opium pipe. It's an artifact. Really.

WEDNESDAY:

Today was the class trip to the Intellectual Property and International Trade Court. It was okay, as far as class visits go, but it's just not the sort of subject I'm interested in. However, they DID feed us the cutest little donut/pastry things. They were VERY good. And we got a free notepad out it. ^^

I got back to the hotel and napped. I had vague ideas of going back to the Night Bazaar or to Silom/Patpong, but decided not to. I need to look through things I've bought and who I've bought for, so I don't buy too much. And I really need to stop buying textiles and such related objects. XP I need to change my money, too. Maybe I'll do that tonight at the Emporium.

I think that I'll go out tomorrow if I feel okay to one of the tailors I want to visit. I missed the tailor lady from before because I had class today, but I REALLY want more suits made up before I go. Then I can do Silom/Patpong/Lumpini Night Bazaar (they're in roughly the same area) on one day, then go to Yaowarat Road (Chinatown) to shop for jewelry for my mom.

Oh! And Linkin' Park is having a concert on Sunday, but I'm not going because all the tickets sold out. T_T And 12 Girls Band is giving a performance on Monday and Tuesday!!! I want to try to get tickets for them! I highly recommend them!
