NO LJ I DO NOT WANT YOU TO DELETE MY JOURNAL. NOT ANY OF THEM. EVEN IF I HAVEN'T LOGGED IN FOR YEARS.

IT'S MINES, PRECIOUSSSSS. IT'S MINE, MY OWN, MY PRECIOUSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS.

Dear Russia,

Please stop taking out LiveJournal every time you have an election, political turmoil, dissidents speaking out, or some 16-year old girl in Moscow sneezes and decides to post about it.

This DDOS thing is getting really tiresome. No love for you.

Respectfully,

Me

IN SOVIET RUSSIA, .RU HACKS YOU.

I'm getting tired of the constant DDoS attacks. Jeeze, Russia, if you want to attack your political opponents, can't you do it in a way that doesn't effect the rest of us? You've got all of LJ pissed at you now, and we know you are the one behind it.

-- My dragons grew up! *is still a-squee about that* And I immediately bred them. >_>;; Yay new pink egg!
-- My booster bracer on Trickster ran out. It's was a 15-day 1.5x bracer that I got as a prize so it's no big loss, but still. Boo. I didn't use it to its fullest extent (like how I was grinding for a full 3 hours in a Royal party with my EX bracer), but I'm not too upset. I managed to level anyway.
-- Straight from [livejournal.com profile] lj_2008, apparently, I am a target for wankery. Please avoid this link if you don't wanna see the current LJ bitchery.
-- This is where I'm be playing during the boycott. If you're curious. Nothing much there yet, but I found some tools to help me migrate my journal entries and such. I'm not leaving LJ wholesale yet, so don't worry.
-- ForumWarz is still tons of fun. Domination is turning me into a bitch. Or maybe that's my hormones.
-- I have chocolates~!! ♥ ♥

Straight from [livejournal.com profile] sf_drama (sorta like FW), and of COURSE, LJ wasn't gonna announce this until it was too late.

LOS ANGELES, CA, March 17, 2008 – News Corporation announced today that it signed a definitive agreement to acquire the LiveJournal trademark and organization from their current owners, Russian media company SUP Fabrik, for approximately $580 million in cash, or the equivalent of $12 per common share. The acquisition of LiveJournal, combined with the recently announced formation of Fox Interactive Media, underscores News Corporation’s commitment to expand its internet presence by offering a deeper, richer online experience for its millions of users.

With the addition of LiveJournal, News Corporation’s U.S. web traffic will nearly double to more than 45 million unique monthly users, putting the Company in the top echelon of most trafficked content sites on the Internet today. LiveJournal is one of the largest and earliest multi-category online entertainment networks, with more than 27 million unique monthly users. LiveJournal's fusion of community and personal "blogging" allowed the network to capture a remarkably large market share in its earlier years, and continues to attract millions of users every week.

"LiveJournal is an important acquisition for News Corp., instantly doubling the number of visitors to our sites and providing an ideal foundation on which to meaningfully increase our internet presence," said News Corporation's Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Rupert Murdoch. "LiveJournal's trademark name is one of the web's hottest properties and resonates well with the same consumers we are currently targeting for further consumption. LiveJournal's ongoing popularity, combined with our existing online assets, will provide a richer experience for today's internet users."

The transaction is expected to close in the 2nd quarter of calendar year 2008, and is subject to certain customary conditions including approval of the LiveJournal common and preferred investors.

"We are very excited to combine our unique Internet reach and assets with one of the most exciting media companies in the world. We look forward to continuing to lead the market in unique content, social networking, and analytical marketing," said Andrew Paulson, SUP Fabrik's Founder and CEO.

LiveJournal founder Brad Fitzpatrick was unavailable for comment.

Video of the press statement is here.

x___X;; Why does no one want to keep us?!
windandwater: (Dear LJ)
*starts beating LJ with it*

GIVE ME MY COMMENT REPLY MESSAGES. HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO FUNCTION WITHOUT THEM.
windandwater: (Dear LJ)
So, besides eating comment replies and messages again, LJ ate one of my posts from yesterday. Granted, I used YouTube to post it because it was a video, but I'd never had any problems before. XP And it was such a cute video too. Grrr... maybe I'll try posting it again later today.

I blame the communists for all the problems. They're getting closer to having full control.
windandwater: (Dear LJ)
Oh my god, they actually did it. I KNEW SixApart was planning on jumping ship like a bunch of rats, but I didn't think it would be this soon. But LJ is now sold to a new company. SUP, which is based in Russia.

I just... have no words. Except for:

IN LIVEJOURNAL, SOVIET RUSSIA DOES YOU.

EDIT (what, already?)...

Courtesy one of the comments in that news post, here's some handy phrases we'll need in the future.
